About

Kiani sits in the Fifty Fifth Thonglor building at the mouth of Thonglor Soi 2, under five minutes from BTS Thong Lo. The pitch is Korean home cooking rather than restaurant showpieces: the chef-owner is Korean, the core ingredients are imported, and he is usually on the floor checking on tables. Food writers agree on three dishes, jjimdak (soy-braised chicken with potatoes), bossam (boiled pork belly eaten in lettuce wraps with kimchi) and rabokki (tteokbokki with ramyeon noodles), while Thai regulars lean on samgyeopsal, budae jjigae, bibimbap and kimchi jjigae. Banchan are refilled. Prices land below the Korean places in the nearby malls, around 300 to 600 baht a head when a group shares several dishes. Hours are Monday to Saturday 11am to 9.30pm and Sunday until 8pm, so it is a dinner place, not a late one. A high Google rating on a large review count means a short wait on weekend evenings. Parking is in the Fifty Fifth building.
