Ratchada Restaurants: 14 Places to Eat from Rama 9 to Huai Khwang Along the MRT
Ratchada restaurants by MRT stop: Jodd Fairs Ratchada, The Street's 24-hour floor, Huai Khwang's salad corner, Korean and Chinese food, late nights.
Ratchada is a road you eat along by MRT stop. The Blue Line runs under Ratchadaphisek from Phra Ram 9 through Thailand Cultural Centre, Huai Khwang and Sutthisan to the Lat Phrao intersection, and each station has its own food: a mall that never closes, a spicy-salad shop with a queue, a seafood house that seats fifty, an izakaya that shuts at six in the morning. The Ratchada restaurants in this guide sit on the middle stretch, from Central Rama 9 to the Huai Khwang intersection: 14 places whose menus and prices are documented in public sources in 2026, from a 160-baht ramen to a 950-baht seafood buffet. Ranking comes from Google rating and review volume, documented dishes, and editorial judgement.
Budget in three bands. Night-market plates, roadside Isan and grilled chicken: 50 to 150 baht. Casual sit-down, the salad houses, the izakaya, a mall Korean lunch: 250 to 500 baht a head. Mookata and buffets: 199 to 950 baht depending on the package. Transit is simple. MRT Phra Ram 9 for Central Rama 9 and Fortune Town; MRT Thailand Cultural Centre for Esplanade, The Street and Jodd Fairs Ratchada; MRT Huai Khwang for the salad shops, the Isan houses opposite Big C, Ratchada Soi 10 and the night market.

Ratchada by MRT stop: how the road is organised
Picture five stations. Phra Ram 9 is the mall stop: Central Rama 9 links to the station underground and holds Haidilao and Hua Seng Hong on the 7th floor, Kabocha Sushi and The Bibimbab in the basement, with Fortune Town opposite. Thailand Cultural Centre is the stop for Esplanade, The Street and the Jodd Fairs Ratchada night market beside Big C Place; The Street is open 24 hours, with A Ramen, Shakariki 432 and Hollys Coffee on the B floor and Japanese buffets on the 4th. Huai Khwang is the heart of the roadside food: Khoad Yum beside exit 4, Epia and Kai Yang Ratchada on the Din Daeng pavement, Zaap One opposite Big C, Kuang Seafood in Soi 10, and the Huai Khwang night market around the Ganesha shrine. The last two stops, Sutthisan and Ratchadaphisek, are outside this list: the mookata and mala strip around Soi 18, then the sit-down Thai houses of Soi 32 to 36 at the Lat Phrao end. For Lat Phrao Road beyond that intersection, see Lat Phrao restaurants.
Ratchada is a night road: The Street runs 24 hours, Khoad Yum serves until 03:00, and TrueID lists kitchens in the Huai Khwang market zone open until 05:00 or 06:00.
Jodd Fairs and Ratchada night market food
The night market moved, and older guides have not caught up. The Ratchada Train Night Market that stood behind Esplanade, the one in a decade of travel photos, is gone; Time Out was already calling it defunct in 2023. Its organisers then ran Jodd Fairs behind Central Rama 9 until that lease ended in January 2025. Jodd Fairs food today means Jodd Fairs Ratchada, opened on 1 November 2024 beside Big C Place on Ratchadaphisek Road. Travjoy’s 2026 guide puts it about three minutes on foot from MRT Thailand Cultural Centre exit 4, open daily from roughly 17:00 to 01:00, and Says reports more than 1,500 stalls and restaurants on 2.08 hectares. The Street Ratchada, open 24 hours, is the second round near the same station. For a sit-down meal at the Rama 9 end of the road, Zabb One at Ratchada Soi 5 does Isan staples, and GrabFood’s Rama 9 list names Somyong Tam Sua 2 on Rama 9 Soi 7/1, an Isan shop with over 4,000 Grab reviews, closed Sundays. The Huai Khwang market, one stop up from Thailand Cultural Centre, is the other night market on this road, covered in the Huai Khwang section below and in the guide to street food in Bangkok.
Central Rama 9 and Fortune Town in brief
Central Rama 9, linked underground to MRT Phra Ram 9, holds three of the fourteen places here: Haidilao’s mala hot pot on the 7th floor until 03:00, Hua Seng Hong’s Cantonese room on the same floor, and The Bibimbab on B1 with bibimbap at 260 baht. Every floor, from Kabocha Sushi in the basement to Sushiro on the 6th, is in the Central Rama 9 restaurants guide. Fortune Town across the road is older and cheaper; Hungry Hub lists Katsuya from about 238 baht and the Thai restaurant Ruean Mae Louis from 395. For the Rama 9 road itself rather than the mall, see Rama 9 restaurants.
Huai Khwang restaurants: the Chinese and Thai-Isan corner
Huai Khwang food means the two blocks around the MRT station and the night market behind it; hours, exits and stalls are in the Huai Khwang night market guide. The Thai-Isan side is in this list: Khoad Yum beside exit 4, which Ryoii prices at 180 baht for fresh shrimp yum and 500 for the giant Khoad Yum, open 14:00 to 03:00; Epia on the Din Daeng pavement, the 4.8-rated salad house; Zaap One opposite Big C for som tam and grilled chicken; Kai Yang Ratchada for takeaway chicken; and in the market zone on Prachasongkhro Soi 36, Sud Zab’s mango and blue crab salad. Kuang Seafood in Soi 10 is the group dinner, grilled seafood until 01:30 with a private room and a car park.
The Chinese side is the newer story. Mainland Chinese arrivals have turned Pracharat Bamphen Road and the sois off Ratchada into what locals call the new Chinatown. Visit Amanta points to 8 Bean Hotpot for Sichuan hot pot, Fu Wah with more than 300 dishes and mostly Chinese-speaking staff, and Yipin Xiang La Gao with a Chinese-only menu. Lemon8 posts add a 24-hour Lanzhou hand-pulled noodle shop about 300 metres from exit 1, Aroi Dim Sum at 19 baht a basket round the clock, and several mala skewer counters from 5 baht a stick. None of these publishes a menu with prices, so they stay out of the ranked list. Mongkok Sukiyaki in M9 Square at the Honda showroom is the Hong Kong-style suki with parking on this stretch.
Korean and Chinese restaurants on Ratchada
Korea on this road is a cheap-and-cheerful affair. The Bibimbab in Central Rama 9 does home-style bibimbap and griddle sets under 330 baht before VAT, and Ryoii lists Nene Korean BBQ Buffet on Soi 3 near Duangporn Mansion at 199 baht for Korean dishes, 299 with unlimited pork and chicken grill and 499 with seafood, VAT included, walk-in only. GrabFood adds GUGU Chicken on Soi 3 for Korean fried chicken until midnight, and Hollys Coffee, the Korean cafe chain at The Street’s entrance, is open 24 hours for bingsu. The Street itself has KBBQ on the 1st floor, buffets from 399 to 699 baht until 03:00 by the mall’s own blog.
Chinese ranges from the mall to the market. Haidilao and Hua Seng Hong cover hot pot and Cantonese inside Central, and Mongkok does dark-broth suki. The Sichuan and Lanzhou kitchens around Huai Khwang are covered above. For Japanese on this road, Shakariki 432 and A Ramen in The Street are in the list, Hiyaku Izakaya on Esplanade’s M floor is listed by Hungry Hub without a public menu, and the wider picture is in the Japanese restaurants in Bangkok guide.
Mookata and buffets on Ratchada
Mookata, the Thai charcoal-grill-and-soup pan, and Korean grill buffets run the length of this road, from Nene’s Korean BBQ buffet on Soi 3 to the Sutthisan end. The best-documented options are the buffets with published prices. Kuang Seafood’s Thai-Chinese seafood buffet is 950 baht net with soft drinks, 1,099 with one premium dish and beer, 1,599 with two. On The Street’s 4th floor, Ryoii lists Neta Fish&Meat, a 200-item Japanese buffet from 499++ baht (49 items) up to 1,599++ (207 items with drinks), 100-minute seatings, and Gyu-Ya yakiniku at 499, 699 and 899. Jin Tong Guo on Soi 18 in the Golden Dome project does a 299-baht mala buffet for 90 minutes near MRT Sutthisan exit 3. Tang Tem Mee Noi at Ratchada 36 runs a 299-baht seafood buffet with no time limit at the Lat Phrao end. Haidilao is a la carte hot pot rather than a buffet, and Mongkok’s suki is ordered by the plate. For mookata shops elsewhere in the city, with their set and buffet prices, see mookata in Bangkok.
Ratchada late-night food near Sutthisan
Past Huai Khwang toward Sutthisan the road turns into the after-midnight strip. Within this list, Shakariki 432 runs to 06:00, A Ramen and Hollys never close, Khoad Yum and Haidilao go to 03:00, Kuang to 01:30, Sud Zab to midnight. Beyond the list, TrueID’s Ganesha-shrine round-up names Je Tim Seafood on Prachasongkhro Road from 17:00 to 05:00 and Sirichai pork-leg rice at 40 Prachasongkhro until 06:00; Visit Amanta adds Tor Jum Moo, a 189-baht jim jum buffet on Pracharat Bamphen Soi 4 from 16:00 to 04:00; and GrabFood lists Larb Nua Udon at Ratchada Soi 4 from 16:00 to 04:00. The Blue Line stops around midnight, and Jodd Fairs Ratchada trades until about 01:00 by Travjoy’s count. For other districts that eat this late, see Asok restaurants on the Sukhumvit side, and for halal options along the MRT, halal restaurants in Bangkok.
