Indian Restaurant Bangkok Guide: 12 Places Ranked by Area and Style, From 95-Baht Paratha to Two Michelin Stars
Indian restaurant Bangkok guide: Sukhumvit Soi 11 and 13, coastal Indian, halal tandoor, Silom Soi 20 curries, two-star and progressive tasting menus.
Indian food in Bangkok runs from 10-baht samosas outside a Phahurat textile shop to a two-Michelin-star tasting menu in a century-old house on Soi Langsuan. Sukhumvit Soi 11 has the densest cluster, but Phahurat and Silom Soi 20 cook for their own communities, and the tasting menus sit apart in old houses. This 2026 guide ranks 12 Indian restaurants in Bangkok, with dishes and prices taken from their own menus, the Michelin Guide and the press. It covers the Sukhumvit cluster from Soi 11 to Soi 19, a coastal Indian kitchen on Soi 18, a halal tandoor, the curry houses of Silom Soi 20, and the two tasting menus that put Bangkok on the world lists. Ranking comes from awards, Google rating and review volume, verified dishes and editorial judgement.
Price bands, per head: canteens and snack shops 80 to 300 baht; mid-range North Indian 300 to 1,000; Michelin-listed and tasting menus 1,500 to 6,700, and more at Gaggan. By train, Sukhumvit’s Indian strip is at BTS Nana and Asok, with MRT Sukhumvit for Soi 19 and 21. INDDEE and Jharokha are at BTS Chit Lom, Gaggan at Phrom Phong, and Silom’s Indian quarter at BTS Sala Daeng and Surasak. Ariya on Silom Soi 20 also delivers through Grab.

Indian food in Bangkok: where the communities eat
Bangkok’s Indian food follows its communities. The oldest is in Phahurat, the Little India on the edge of Chinatown, a textile district built around the Sri Guru Singh Sabha Sikh temple where the canteens cook for traders and families. The second is Silom’s Indian and Muslim quarter around the Sri Maha Mariamman temple, where Silom Soi 20 has curry houses and a famous morning biryani stall. The third is Sukhumvit, where hotels, expatriate families and visitors keep Soi 11 to Soi 19 busy from lunch to late. The upscale end sits apart from all three, in houses on Soi Langsuan, Soi 18 and Soi 31.
Best Indian restaurants in Bangkok, ranked
INDDEE is first: two Michelin stars since the 2026 guide, for a menu you can book and price in advance, open daily from 17:30 with valet parking on Soi Langsuan. Its ten-course menu moves region by region, from a Goan carabinero to a crab dish called Odd One Out, and its plant-based menu is a full tasting menu in its own right. Gaggan is second, a counter that won its first Michelin star in the 2026 guide and placed third in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026; it books through its own website, phone, WhatsApp and LINE, and it is the only restaurant here without a published price. Jhol is third and the best value of the three, coastal food from Konkan, Malabar and Chettinad served for sharing. Punjab Grill’s 1,999++ tasting menu and Indique’s broad menu with cocktails are the strongest mid-range dinners. Amritsr, Charcoal and Jharokha lead the North Indian grills. Chowpati and Ariya are the cheap picks, and Finch and Al Saray are for nights that run late.
Indian restaurants on Sukhumvit: Soi 11, Soi 13, Soi 18 and Asok
Soi 11 is the densest stretch. Amritsr is the most-reviewed Indian restaurant on the road. Charcoal sits on the fifth floor of Fraser Suites, under the Above Eleven rooftop, and Finch at number 155 turns into a music venue after 20:00. Cross to Soi 13 for Punjab Grill in the Radisson Suites and Chowpati in 15 Sukhumvit Residences, where parking on level three is free. At the mouth of Soi 19, Indique in the SQ Boutique Hotel is a few minutes from Terminal 21, and Jhol sits on the even side at Soi 18. For more on these streets, see Sukhumvit restaurants and Asok restaurants.
Phahurat and Little India: canteens, roti and vegetarian food
Phahurat is the cheapest Indian food in the city and the least visited by tourists. Expique’s guide to the neighbourhood points to Royal India at 392/1 Chakphet Road, which Travelfish describes as a tiny air-conditioned room down a dark alley near the Sikh temple, with a big sign on the main road. Toney’s, off Chakphet Road beside a canal, is a cheap Indian-Nepalese stall known for fresh roti; ask for less chilli. A daytime stall outside the India Emporium sells samosas from 10 baht. Expique puts a curry, rice and naan meal at about 100 baht, roughly a quarter of the Sukhumvit price. The neighbourhood is worth a lunch for anyone who likes Indian food. MRT Sam Yot is the nearest station, and the streets around it are covered in Old Town Bangkok restaurants and Chinatown restaurants.
Halal Indian restaurants in Bangkok
If halal certification matters, start with Charcoal Tandoor Grill. Its own page states that the kitchen is 100 percent halal-certified, and it is the only restaurant on this list to say so, though it pours cocktails. Al Saray in Silom appears on Grab’s list of halal restaurants, but the Silom branch serves alcohol and the website makes no certification claim. Ariya on Silom Soi 20 sits in a halal-heavy neighbourhood and asks diners to check with the restaurant directly. For a wider set, see halal restaurants in Bangkok.
Michelin and fine-dining Indian in Bangkok
Two Indian kitchens gained stars in the Michelin Guide Thailand 2026. INDDEE was promoted from one star to two, and its menu prices are published: 6,700++ for the 10 Destination Journey and 5,800++ for the Vegetable Journey, with pairings from 2,600++. Gaggan was promoted from the selection to one star, and it also ranked third in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026; Michelin’s page asks diners to leave phones and cameras aside for the show. Punjab Grill and Jhol are both in the 2026 selection without a star, which makes them the most affordable Michelin-recognised Indian meals here, at 1,999++ for Punjab Grill’s six courses. For the wider tasting-menu field, see Michelin restaurants in Bangkok and fine dining in Bangkok.
Cheap Indian food and the best biryani in Bangkok
The cheapest seated Indian meals on this list are on Silom Soi 20 and Sukhumvit Soi 13. Ariya prints its prices plainly: aloo paratha with curd and pickle at 95 baht, masala tea at 75, and butter chicken, its best-selling curry, at 195. Chowpati’s Mumbai snacks run from 150 baht for pani puri to 295 for a chicken tikka kathi roll. For biryani, Eating Thai Food rates the chicken biryani stall on Silom Soi 20 among the best in Bangkok and reports that it sells out before 09:00. Charcoal lists biryanis among its signatures, and Indique’s menu puts biryanis beside its tandoor dishes. For vegetarian and vegan Indian food, Indique’s Jain and vegan menus and INDDEE’s plant-based tasting menu are the strongest options; more in vegan restaurants in Bangkok, and for the Silom end, Silom restaurants.
