Central Rama 9 restaurants run from the basement to the 7th floor of the mall at the corner of Rama 9 Road and Ratchadaphisek, and the question most people arrive with is which floor to go to. This guide answers that first. It ranks 13 places whose menus, prices or dishes are documented in public sources, gives the floor and, where a source publishes it, the room number for each, and maps the other restaurants in the building around them. It is written for people who work in the office towers at the Rama 9 junction, expats living along the MRT Blue Line, and visitors staying near Ratchada who want a reliable meal without crossing town. The order weighs Google rating and review count, sourced dishes and prices, and editorial judgement.

Central Rama 9 food sorts into three spending levels. The rice-bowl and one-plate chains on the 6th and 7th floors and in the basement cost roughly 100 to 300 baht a head: Wongnai puts Kofuku and Baan Ying at 101 to 250, and a Pepper Lunch set was 169 in a 2025 review. Sit-down Japanese and Korean meals land between 250 and 750: The Bibimbab runs 250 to 420, On the Table 251 to 500 and Kabocha Sushi 250 to 750. Laem Charoen’s seafood dinners come to 400 to 800 baht a head by Thairath’s chain-wide figures. Haidilao publishes no per-head figure. Getting here is easy: MRT Phra Ram 9 connects to the mall’s basement by tunnel, and Central Pattana’s car park holds more than 2,500 cars.

Central Rama 9 restaurants by floor: 7, 6 and the basement

Grab’s 2026 list counts 30 restaurants spread from the basement to the 7th floor, but three levels do almost all the work. The 7th floor is for sitting down for an hour or more: hot pot, Cantonese, seafood, Thai home cooking and most of the buffets. The 6th floor, where Wongnai places On the Table and Pepper Lunch in the Plaza zone, is chain territory where lunch takes half an hour. The basement is the first floor you reach from the MRT, and it holds rice bowls, solo shabu, Korean food and salads. Sources label it inconsistently: Kabocha and Jones’ Salad give their address as B, while Hitori Shabu, The Bibimbab and Rosniyom say B1. Treat them as the same food level. The mall’s full name is CentralPlaza Grand Rama 9, so listings for Central Plaza Rama 9 restaurants mean this building too.

Of the 13 ranked here, five are on the 7th floor, three on the 6th and five in the basement. The MRT tunnel brings you into the basement, and the sit-down restaurants are at the top of the building.

7th floor: hot pot, Cantonese, seafood and Thai sit-down meals

Most of the mall’s sit-down restaurants are up here. Haidilao Central Rama 9 is the anchor, and it is the late choice by default: nothing else on Grab’s list of the mall’s restaurants serves past 22:00. Hua Seng Hong in room 715 is where families on this side of town come for Cantonese food instead of driving to Yaowarat. Grab’s Rama 9 round-up puts it in its ฿฿฿ price tier, so this is a family-occasion meal rather than a quick lunch.

The Thai options split by mood. Laem Charoen Seafood serves Rayong-style fish and prawns at proper tables, and Thairath prices its dishes at about 180 to 250 baht each, which is how a shared dinner of a whole fish, prawns and sides lands in its estimate of 400 to 800 baht a head. Baan Ying is cheaper and plainer: omelettes, stir-fries and curries of the kind people cook at home. Grab adds Have A Zeed in room 717, a Thai restaurant whose list includes river prawns fried with salt and chilli, and Bonchon’s Korean fried chicken in room 714.

Picking a Central Rama 9 Japanese restaurant on this floor comes down to budget. Kofuku covers the cheap end; Grab places Oishi Eaterium in rooms 705 to 708 and Tenjo Sushi & Yakiniku Premium Buffet in room 719.

6th floor Plaza zone: quick chain lunches

The 6th floor is where you eat when you have 40 minutes. Sushiro’s belt and Pepper Lunch’s hot plates both get food in front of you fast, and On the Table in room 608 is the slower choice with real chairs, a glass of wine and fusion plates such as carbonara udon and a sukiyaki burger that Grab singles out. Its hours differ between sources, 11:00 to 22:00 on Google and Grab against 10:00 to 21:00 on Wongnai, so ring before a late meal.

Grab’s list fills in the rest of the floor: MK Suki in rooms 618 and 619 for the classic Thai family hot pot, S&P in room 616 for curry rice and its bakery counter (it closes at 20:00), Yayoi in room 617 for tonkatsu sets, Hachiban Ramen, and Saemaeul Sikdang in room 629 for Korean grilled pork belly and kimchi stew. None of those is ranked here because no branch prices are published for them, but they are the fallbacks if the ranked places are full.

Central Rama 9 food court and the basement by the MRT

The Central Rama 9 food court has changed. Food Republic’s branch here was the chain’s last in Thailand and closed on 22 November 2024, according to Brand Buffet, which also reported that Central Pattana was expected to replace it with Food Patio, its own premium food court. That was a forecast at the time, so check the Central Rama 9 directory board before going up. Grab’s current list describes a food court zone on the 7th floor around McDonald’s in room 726.

The basement does the job a food court used to. Kabocha Sushi, Hitori Shabu, The Bibimbab, Rosniyom and Jones’ Salad are all within a short walk of the MRT tunnel, and each one works for someone eating alone. Grab also lists Wua Gyu in room B41 for Thai beef boat noodles with braised beef and tongue, and CoCo Ichibanya’s Japanese curry rice, which it gives as BF07. For a solo diner the best pairing is Hitori Shabu, where everyone has their own pot anyway, or a rice bowl at Kabocha’s counter.

Buffet, shabu and hot pot at Central Rama 9

A Central Rama 9 buffet means one of the two upper food floors. Grab places Sukishi Buffet in room 609 on the 6th floor, with seafood, steak and pizza, and two more on the 7th: Mo-Mo-Paradise’s shabu buffet with Kurobuta pork and wagyu, and Tenjo’s sushi and yakiniku buffet. None of them publishes a current price for this branch, so none is ranked. Kagonoya’s Japanese hot pot in room 730 still appears on Grab, but its Wongnai page shows the branch as temporarily closed.

For Central Rama 9 shabu without a buffet clock, Hitori Shabu in the basement sells sets for one, and Haidilao on the 7th floor is à la carte hot pot ordered by the plate, not a buffet. TrueID’s Rama 9 list adds Shibuya Shabu on the G floor of the Worasombat Building on Rama 9 Road, a shabu and sushi buffet it priced from 739++ baht, though that article dates from 2022. To compare across the city, see our guides to hot pot in Bangkok and buffets in Bangkok, and for sushi and ramen beyond this mall, Japanese restaurants in Bangkok.

Outside the mall: Fortune Town, G Tower and the Ratchada side

When the mall gets tiring, there are three directions within a few minutes’ walk. G Tower, the office building next to the station, has Moom Gapao, a Thai restaurant in room 206 on its G floor (Google 4.8 from 501 reviews). Rama 9 Road has Banpuku Yokocho at 12/1, an izakaya with a private room that a 2022 TrueID article lists for evening opening. Across Ratchadaphisek, Fortune Town is the older and cheaper mall; Hungry Hub lists Katsuya there from about 238 baht. The same 2022 TrueID article points to Come Pah, a northern Thai shop on Soi Yu Charoen behind Fortune Town, which it listed as closing at 19:00 and on Mondays.

For the sois around the junction and further up the road, the Rama 9 restaurants guide covers the Isan shops and late-night spots outside the mall, and Ratchada restaurants follows the MRT north to Huai Khwang and the night markets. If you want the same floor-by-floor treatment for another mall, try CentralWorld restaurants.

Getting there by MRT Phra Ram 9, parking and hours

Every place in this guide is among the restaurants near MRT Phra Ram 9 in the most literal sense. Take the Blue Line to Phra Ram 9 and follow the signs for the mall. Central Pattana describes Central Rama 9 as the first private project allowed to link a tunnel to an MRT station, so you walk underground into the basement food level and never touch Ratchadaphisek traffic.

Drivers use the mall’s car park, which Central Pattana gives as holding more than 2,500 cars. The mall sets the parking fees and any free-hour rules, so check them at the information counter before you count on a restaurant receipt. Most restaurants on Grab’s list keep 10:00 to 22:00, with a few closing earlier, and Haidilao is the one listed until 03:00.

Quick answers

FAQ

7 questions
Which floor are the restaurants on at Central Rama 9?

Three floors matter. The 7th is the main sit-down floor, with Haidilao, Hua Seng Hong in room 715, Laem Charoen Seafood, Baan Ying, Kofuku and the Mo-Mo-Paradise and Tenjo buffets. The 6th floor, including the Plaza zone, holds quick chains such as Sushiro, Pepper Lunch, On the Table, MK and S&P. The basement, which sources label both B and B1, has Kabocha Sushi, Hitori Shabu, The Bibimbab, Rosniyom and Jones' Salad.

Is there a food court at Central Rama 9, and where is it?

Not the one many people remember. Food Republic at Central Rama 9, the chain's last branch in Thailand, closed on 22 November 2024, according to Brand Buffet, which reported that Central Pattana was expected to bring in its Food Patio format; that was a forecast, not an announcement. Grab's mall list places McDonald's, room 726, in a food court zone on the 7th floor. Check the directory by the lifts.

Which Central Rama 9 restaurants stay open late?

Haidilao on the 7th floor lists hours of 10:00 to 03:00 every day, which makes it the only late option in the mall. Grab's September 2026 list of 30 restaurants in the building has nothing open past 22:00, and several close earlier: Laem Charoen and Mo-Mo-Paradise at 21:30, S&P at 20:00. For a meal after 22:00 at the Rama 9 junction, Haidilao is the answer.

Is Central Rama 9 the same mall as The Nine Rama 9?

No. Central Rama 9, also called CentralPlaza Grand Rama 9, stands at the junction of Rama 9 Road and Ratchadaphisek, with a tunnel into MRT Phra Ram 9. The Nine is a different mall further east along Rama 9 Road towards Suan Luang, well away from MRT Phra Ram 9. If a review mentions The Nine, it is about the other building.

How do I get to Central Rama 9 by MRT?

Ride the MRT Blue Line to Phra Ram 9 and follow the signs for Central Rama 9. Central Pattana built a tunnel from the mall into the station, so you reach the basement floor without crossing a road or going outside. From there, escalators and lifts run up to the 6th-floor Plaza zone and the 7th-floor restaurants. Fortune Town shares the same station.

Where can I eat cheaply at Central Rama 9?

Baan Ying on the 7th floor sells its creamy egg on rice for 65 baht. Kofuku's rice bowls cost about 138 baht at its Pinklao branch, Pepper Lunch's pepper pork set was 169 baht in a 2025 review, and Sushiro plates start at 40 baht. In the basement, Kabocha's yakiniku don is 243 baht and The Bibimbab's bibimbap 260 before VAT.

Where should I eat near Central Rama 9 outside the mall?

G Tower beside the station has Moom Gapao, a Thai restaurant in room 206 on the G floor, per Google Maps. A 2022 TrueID article lists Banpuku Yokocho, an izakaya with a private room at 12/1 Rama 9 Road, open in the evening. Fortune Town is across Ratchadaphisek. For the full spread, see the Ratchada and Rama 9 guides.
