A rooftop restaurant in Bangkok can mean a two-Michelin-star tasting menu on the 65th floor or a 480-baht set lunch on a terrace eleven floors above Thonglor, and the same word covers bars that serve little more than a bowl of fries. This 2026 list covers 13 rooftop restaurants in Bangkok where dinner is the point: the starred rooms in State Tower, Mexican cooking near the top of Mahanakhon, a Thai rooftop at Asok, Chinese dim sum in Bang Rak, riverside rooms across the Chao Phraya, and Italian terraces in Sathorn and Thonglor. Ranking comes from Google rating and review volume, published menus and prices, and editorial judgement.

Price bands, before the 17 percent service and VAT almost all of them add. Affordable rooftops cost 500 to 1,500 baht a head: Otto’s set lunch, Yào’s dim sum, Bangkok Heightz, Above Eleven, Giglio. Hotel rooftop dinners such as Red Sky, Vertigo, CHAR, Pastel and SEEN cost 1,500 to 4,000. The tasting menus at Mezzaluna and Chef’s Table cost 7,000 to 8,000 baht before wine. The stations that matter are BTS Saphan Taksin for State Tower and the boat to SEEN, Chong Nonsi for Mahanakhon and Yào, MRT Lumphini for Vertigo, Nana and Asok for the Sukhumvit rooftops, Chit Lom for Red Sky and Phloen Chit for CHAR.

Rooftop restaurant vs rooftop bar: what you actually get for the money

The difference shows up on the bill and in the booking. A rooftop bar sells you a drink and a railing, often first come, first served; a rooftop restaurant sells you a table for the whole evening, a kitchen that can cook, and usually a reservation with a deposit. The trade-off is that the best tables at the restaurants face inward or sit under cover, while the bars own the edge. Vertigo is the clearest example: the restaurant books from 18:00 and Moon Bar shares the same deck as a walk-in bar with an 800-baht minimum. Red Sky splits the same way, with the restaurant on 55 and a walk-in bar on 56.

For drinks first and food second, use our rooftop bars in Bangkok guide. This page is for nights when the meal has to be good on its own.

Best rooftop restaurants in Bangkok for dinner

Mezzaluna ranks first on its cooking. It holds two stars in the Michelin Guide Thailand 2026, and its Michelin page describes the view as striking but the precision on the plate as the bigger impression. The latest public price is a 2019 figure of 7,200++ baht for seven courses, so expect more now. Chef’s Table, four floors down in the same tower, also holds two stars and seats diners around an open kitchen. Book both well ahead, and dress for it.

Ojo is the newer kind of rooftop restaurant, an ambitious kitchen with a terrace. BK Magazine’s 2024 lunch menu report gives real prices: a burrata salad with tomatillos at 490 baht, smoked mushrooms in their own jus at 1,200 and lamb barbacoa with mezcal at 2,200. Vertigo is a grill dinner on an open deck. A Thai Foodies review priced the Australian tenderloin at 3,100 baht and the king prawn and crab linguine at 2,100, and in the wet season you may finish the meal indoors at Vertigo Too. SEEN is the pick for the river, and CHAR for a grill dinner that rain cannot cancel.

Affordable rooftop restaurants in Bangkok under 1,500 THB

There are fewer than you would hope, but they exist. Otto’s three-course set lunch on the eleventh floor of MUU Bangkok was 480++ baht in a 2023 Wongnai review, so ask for the current price. Yào’s dim sum menu, from a 2020 review, runs from 128 baht for vegetable dumplings to 288 for crab and fish in tofu skin, with cocktails from 378. Bangkok Heightz works out at about 1,250 baht a head for a full Thai dinner. Above Eleven’s ceviche and anticucho plates let two people eat well without ordering mains. Giglio’s rooftop is a Florentine trattoria at about 1,500 a head, with the bistecca the reason to come.

Rooftop Thai and Chinese restaurants in Bangkok

Thai food on a rooftop is rarer than it should be. Bangkok Heightz on the 39th floor at Asok is the one built around it. The press describes Thai street dishes re-plated for a hotel table, and a January 2026 review found a single vegetarian main left, a green curry with eggplant. For Chinese, Yào on the 32nd floor of the Marriott Surawongse serves modern Shanghai cooking cut down to finger food, sharing the floor with the Yào restaurant; the bar runs 17:00 to 01:00 daily.

If Thai fine dining matters more than height, two rooms with one star each in the Michelin Guide Thailand 2026 come close. Aksorn’s dining room on the top floor of Central: The Original Store on Charoen Krung has a terrace that Fodor’s suggests asking for in the cool months, and Potong in Chinatown has a roof terrace above its tasting-menu floors and a fourth-floor bar. Both are in our fine dining in Bangkok list.

Rooftop restaurants in Sukhumvit, Silom and Sathorn

On Sukhumvit, Soi 11 has two serious rooftop kitchens: Above Eleven on the 33rd floor of Fraser Suites and Pastel on the 22nd floor of the Aira Hotel. Their menus are Peruvian-Japanese and Mediterranean. Bangkok Heightz is a station further along at Asok, and Otto is at Thonglor Soi 8. Silom and Sathorn have the towers. State Tower holds Mezzaluna and Chef’s Table at the Charoen Krung end, Mahanakhon holds Ojo at Chong Nonsi, and the Banyan Tree holds Vertigo on South Sathorn. Giglio’s terrace is on Sathorn Soi 12, seven minutes from BTS Saint Louis. Yào is on Surawong Road between the two districts. For more on each area, see Sathorn restaurants and Silom restaurants.

Riverside and sunset rooftop dining

For the river, the far bank gives the wider view. SEEN on the 26th floor of the Avani+ Riverside faces the downtown skyline across the Chao Phraya. The hotel’s free boat leaves Sathorn Pier, beside BTS Saphan Taksin, every half hour from 08:15 to 23:15, and the last boat back from SEEN is at 23:00. Mezzaluna and Chef’s Table look down on the river bend from State Tower. For riverside dining at street level, including Côte and the Mandarin Oriental’s Le Normandie, both with two stars in the Michelin Guide Thailand 2026, see riverside restaurants in Bangkok.

Sunset in Bangkok falls between about 17:45 and 18:50 depending on the month, so an 18:00 booking at Vertigo, Ojo or Red Sky gives you daylight with the first course and city lights by the main.

Rooftop restaurants for birthdays, anniversaries and proposals

The hotel rooftops are practised at occasions, and the useful details are in the booking terms. Red Sky’s romantic set for two is 5,900 baht net on Hungry Hub and needs a day’s notice; its sharing sets with wine run from 8,490 to 11,400 baht. Bangkok Heightz guarantees a window table against a 500-baht per person deposit that comes off the bill. lebua takes a deposit for Mezzaluna and Chef’s Table and keeps it if you cancel within 72 hours, so be sure of the date. For a proposal, say so when you book and ask for an edge table in writing; on an open deck like Vertigo’s, have a rain plan.

Booking and getting to rooftop restaurants

Book every restaurant on this list for dinner, and book Mezzaluna, Chef’s Table and Ojo weeks ahead. Enter through the hotel lobby and take the restaurant’s lift; at Mahanakhon, use the lobby lift for Ojo rather than the SkyWalk ticket desk. Drivers can park free at Fraser Suites for Above Eleven and in The Eight building for Otto. The BTS stops running around midnight, so after a late dinner on the Thonburi bank or in Sathorn, plan a taxi.
