Italian food in Bangkok runs from 185-baht carbonara on Siam Square to a riverside Japanese-Italian tasting course at 5,000 baht, and the right Italian restaurant in Bangkok depends on which of those you want tonight. This 2026 guide ranks 14 Italian restaurants in Bangkok with dishes and prices checked against menus, the Michelin Guide, Time Out and Wongnai: the chef-run rooms of Silom, the trattorias and pizzerias of Thonglor and Sathorn, the hotel Italians a skywalk from the BTS, and two cheap pizza-and-pasta places for groups. Ranking comes from Google rating and review volume, verified dishes and editorial judgement.

Price bands, per head: pizza and pasta places 250 to 600 baht; trattorias 600 to 1,500 with a glass of wine; chef-run and hotel rooms 1,200 to 3,000, and up to 5,000 for a tasting course. Add 10 percent service and 7 percent VAT almost everywhere. By train, Silom’s Italian cluster is at BTS Sala Daeng and MRT Si Lom, Sathorn’s at BTS Saint Louis, Chong Nonsi and Surasak, Thonglor’s at BTS Thong Lo, the Sukhumvit hotels at Nana and Asok, and the mall options at BTS Siam.

Italian food in Bangkok: hotel rooms, chef-run trattorias and the new wave

There are three generations of Italian restaurant here, and they still sit side by side. The first is the hotel Italian: Rossini’s at the Sheraton Grande and Bella Sera at the Sofitel, both near the BTS, with set lunches that cost half of dinner. The second is the chef-run room that has outlived the hotels’ monopoly. Zanotti has served Piedmontese food from the Saladaeng Colonnade since 1998, and Giglio brings Florentine cooking, Tuscan salumi and dry-aged beef to Sathorn Soi 12. The third is the newer wave of tighter menus: La Dotta’s counter of fresh pasta, Cento’s warehouse with more than 200 wines, Starita’s Naples pizzeria and Capricci’s red-lit bar-restaurant on Yen Akat. The ranking leans towards the second and third groups, because that is where the cooking is most specific.

Best Italian restaurants in Bangkok, ranked

Zanotti is first because it has done the same job well for nearly thirty years, and because its weekday set lunch makes a famous room affordable. Cento is second for its hand-rolled pici and a list of more than 200 wines built for staying late. La Dotta is third for fresh pasta in a room of about 20 seats; book or arrive early. Starita is the pizza pick. Giglio and THE S Bangkok give the most complete dinners outside Silom, the first Tuscan and the second a Japanese-Italian course menu by the river. Di Vino, Otto and Capricci are the evenings built around wine, a terrace or a mood. The hotel rooms and the cheap options close the list, each the best of its kind in its area.

Best pizza in Bangkok

Pizza is where the gap between the best and the rest is widest. Starita on Thonglor Soi 13 is a Naples pizzeria founded in 1901, and its first branch outside Italy. Reviews single out the pizza fritta, dough folded around ricotta, salami, fior di latte and tomato and fried golden, now 560 baht. The montanara, fried and then finished in the wood oven, is the other house move. The list runs past twenty pizzas and includes a gluten-free dough. Zanotti is the opposite end: a Pizza 4 Stagioni at 480++ and a half-truffle pizza at 2,540, shaved at the table.

For the price of a beer, Fam Time in Siam Square ferments its dough for 24 hours and sells the truffle pizza, the chain’s best seller, at 295 baht. Tutto Matto in Sathorn bakes until 23:55, and its salmon cream-cheese pizza is the one its own customers praise. Mozza by Cocotte in Paragon cooks wood-fired pizzas beside its pasta.

Best pasta in Bangkok and the neighbourhood trattorias

For pasta specifically, go to Silom. La Dotta’s saffron gnocchetti with baby lamb ragù under Pecorino Romano is the dish the Michelin Guide singles out, and in 2021 BK Magazine priced a wagyu bolognese tagliatelle at 590 baht. Cento’s pici is 650 baht, and its black truffle ravioli with egg and pecorino is the rich order. In Sathorn, Giglio’s pici comes in a pecorino fondue with fresh truffle, and Capricci makes its tortellini fresh in view. Mozza’s Lasagna della Nonna is the most-voted dish on Chope, and Fam Time’s 185-baht carbonara is the cheapest bowl here. Otto’s black mussels and Di Vino’s ravioli round out Thonglor.

Italian restaurants in Silom, Sathorn, Thonglor, Sukhumvit and Siam

Silom has the densest cluster: Zanotti, Cento and La Dotta are all within ten minutes of BTS Sala Daeng, so a pasta crawl is possible. Sathorn has Giglio on Soi 12 near BTS Saint Louis, Tutto Matto on Soi 11 near BTS Saint Louis and Capricci on Yen Akat, which needs a taxi; see Sathorn restaurants. Thonglor has Starita on Soi 13, Di Vino at Soi 16 and Otto on Soi 8; see Thonglor restaurants. On Sukhumvit, Bella Sera is five minutes from BTS Nana and Rossini’s is on the BTS Asok skywalk. In Siam, Mozza is on the G floor of Paragon and Fam Time sits across the road in Siam Square.
