Michelin star restaurants in Bangkok run from a cash-only shophouse where the omelette costs 1,500 baht to hotel dining rooms where a tasting menu passes 8,000 before wine, and the practical problem is not finding a list but finding one that is still true. Every restaurant on this page was checked against its own page on guide.michelin.com in October 2026 to confirm it still holds its star or Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide Thailand 2026. The list is ordered three stars, two stars, one star, then Bib Gourmand, and each entry carries the documented price, how far ahead you need to book, the dress code where the restaurant states one, and the nearest BTS or MRT. Where a restaurant’s 2026 status could not be confirmed on guide.michelin.com, it is not given a star here; starred restaurants without a full listing on this site are named in the text but not ranked.

Budget in three bands. Bib Gourmand and Michelin street food: 60 to 300 baht a head. One-star tasting menus: mostly 2,500 to 6,000 baht, with real shortcuts such as Saneh Jaan’s sets from 850++ baht and the lunches at Côte and Blue by Alain Ducasse at 1,800 to 2,550++. Two and three stars: 5,000 to 9,000 baht a head before drinks. Almost every restaurant at this level adds 10 percent service and 7 percent VAT on top of ++ prices. The ranking follows the award level first, then Google rating and review volume, prices and dishes verified against public sources, and editorial judgement.

Michelin Guide Thailand 2026: how many stars Bangkok has and what changed

The Michelin Guide Thailand 2026 was announced on 27 November 2025, with the Bib Gourmand list published a week earlier on 20 November. The national totals are 468 restaurants: 2 three-star, 8 two-star, 33 one-star, 137 Bib Gourmand and 288 Michelin Selected. Every big move happened in Bangkok. Sühring went from two stars to three, giving Thailand two three-star restaurants for the first time. Anne-Sophie Pic at Le Normandie and INDDEE went from one star to two. Three restaurants won a first star, Bo.lan, Cannubi by Umberto Bombana and etcha, and four moved up from Michelin Selected, Gaggan, Nusara, Sushi Saito and Juksunchae. GOAT in Ekkamai became the fifth Green Star in the country, beside PRU, Jampa, Haoma and Baan Tepa. David Thompson of Aksorn received the first Mentor Chef Award given in Thailand.

On the Bangkok-and-surroundings pages of guide.michelin.com, checked on 17 October 2026, the counts are 2 three-star, 8 two-star, 31 one-star (two of them in Nonthaburi, AKKEE and Suan Thip) and 38 Bib Gourmand (five in Nonthaburi, one in Nakhon Pathom). In other words, every two- and three-star restaurant in Thailand is in Bangkok, and so is almost every one-star. Michelin Selected, the tier below a star or Bib, covers hundreds more; several appear in the area guides on this site, including Bisou on Langsuan, North near Phrom Phong and Punjab Grill on Sukhumvit 13, and the wider set of starred and selected rooms is covered in fine dining in Bangkok.

Three and two Michelin star restaurants in Bangkok

The two three-star restaurants could not be more different. Sorn on Soi Sukhumvit 26 cooks southern Thai as a shared set, and Michelin’s own text says the experience makes up for the very thorough process of securing a table. The set is 7,200 baht a head, the restaurant takes bookings only through its own system, and it releases each month’s seats on the 15th of the month before, and they go quickly. Closed Saturday. Sühring on Soi Yen Akat 3 is modern German by twin chefs in a restored 1970s villa; the website says reservations are highly recommended, especially at weekends, and does not publish menu prices, so ask when you book. It serves lunch Thursday to Sunday, the only chance to eat at a three-star table in Bangkok in daylight.

The eight two-star rooms split into hotel and independent. The hotel group is Le Normandie at the Mandarin Oriental, Côte at the Capella, and Mezzaluna and Chef’s Table on the 65th and 61st floors of the State Tower, which makes lebua the one building in Thailand holding two two-star restaurants. The independents are R-Haan on Sukhumvit 53, INDDEE on Langsuan, Baan Tepa on Ramkhamhaeng Road, which also holds a Green Star, and Gaa, the contemporary Indian restaurant, the one two-star room not ranked here. The cheapest way into two stars is Côte’s four-course Esplanade lunch at 1,800++ baht, followed by Le Normandie’s Wednesday-to-Friday business lunch at 4,500++. INDDEE shows how fast a star moves prices: The Standard quoted its ten-course menu at 4,900++ baht in August 2025, and Time Out quoted 6,700++ in July 2026, after the promotion.

One Michelin star restaurants in Bangkok: prices and the cheapest way in

One-star restaurants are where most people actually eat, because the range runs from an 850-baht set to a 7,886-baht tasting menu. Michelin’s own article on the least expensive starred restaurants in Bangkok, updated May 2026, names five: Saneh Jaan with sets from 850 to 2,650++ baht, Nahm with the Kanom Jin set at 1,100++ and Botany at 2,600++, Maison Dunand’s Preambule at 2,600++, Blue by Alain Ducasse’s five-course lunch at 2,550++, and Côte’s lunch at 1,800++. All five are in the list above: Saneh Jaan and Maison Dunand are a walk from the BTS, nahm about ten minutes from MRT Lumphini, Blue on the BTS Gold Line and Côte a short taxi or boat ride from BTS Saphan Taksin. Saneh Jaan is also the one restaurant on that Michelin list priced at ฿฿ rather than ฿฿฿฿.

The middle band is 2,800 to 4,800 baht: Aksorn’s five-course shared set at 2,800 in its opening period, 80/20 in Talat Noi at 2,800 to 3,300 in 2021, etcha’s two menus at 3,750 and 4,750 plus service and VAT, and GOAT’s thirteen courses at 4,590. At the top of one star sits Mia at 6,944 to 7,886 baht, which also runs a full vegan tasting menu. Gaggan and Nusara, both promoted to one star in 2026, are ranked above with POTONG in Chinatown and Jay Fai; neither Gaggan nor POTONG publishes a menu price. One-star restaurants in Bangkok not ranked here are Chim by Siam Wisdom, Le Du, Haoma, Bo.lan, Sushi Saito, Cannubi, IGNIV, Samrub Samrub Thai, Wana Yook, AVANT, Elements, Coda, NAWA, Juksunchae and Resonance; the one-star listing linked at the foot of the page has all of them.

Bib Gourmand Bangkok: the cheapest Michelin food

The Bib Gourmand rewards good food at a fair price, a different test from the star, and because Bibs are spread across the city’s neighbourhoods they are usually the closest Michelin-listed meal to wherever you are. Michelin’s Bangkok-and-surroundings Bib Gourmand page showed 38 entries on 17 October 2026, 13 of them at the ฿ budget band and 25 at ฿฿. Three are ranked above: Aunglo by Yangrak on Decho Road, a Thai charcoal-grill izakaya with plates at 65 to 199 baht in a December 2024 review; Pad Thai Fai Ta Lu on Dinso Road; and Ten Suns’ braised beef noodles on Wisut Kasat Road. The other Thai entries at ฿฿ are Krua Apsorn (Dusit), Samlor, Plu, Thai Niyom, Jaan, Keawloon, Baan Pee Lek and Prik-Yuak (Phya Thai); southern Thai is Beer Hima (Chatuchak) and Janhom; northern Thai is Maan Muang; Isan is Phed Phed Bistro; Vietnamese is Thien Duong.

Seafood and street-food Bibs this year are Ann Tha Din Daeng, Lucky Seafood, Here Hai (Vadhana), Kin Kub Koi, Somsak Pu Ob (Charoen Rat), Bunloet (Pom Prap Sattru Phai), K. Panich and Hia Wan Khao Tom Pla, with Urai Braised Goose and Bokkia Tha Din Daeng under small eats and Pae Brass Pot Porridge 38 Years under congee. One warning: the Bangkok Bib list changes far more each year than the star list, and several shops that held a Bib in earlier editions are not on the current page. A Bib Gourmand sticker from an old year on a shopfront is history, not status. For the neighbourhoods where most Bibs cluster, see Chinatown restaurants, Old Town restaurants and street food in Bangkok.

Michelin street food in Bangkok: Jay Fai and the noodle shops

Jay Fai on Maha Chai Road remains the one street-food stall with a star. Her Michelin page shows one star at ฿฿฿, labels the place iconic, and recommends the crab omelette, the stir-fried prawns in yellow curry and the noodle dishes. It opens Wednesday to Saturday 09:00 to 19:30, closed Sunday to Tuesday, takes cash only, and Michelin says plainly that you will spend time standing in line. The menu price of the regular crab omelette is 1,500 baht according to Khaosod English’s August 2025 report, which followed a 4,000-baht bill for a premium-crab version; the Department of Internal Trade fined the shop 2,000 baht for not displaying a price and ordered both prices shown. POTONG in Chinatown and Nusara in Tha Tien are the other starred tables on that side of the city, reached from MRT Wat Mangkon and MRT Sanam Chai respectively.

For noodles, the 2026 Bib list files Kolun.h, Pad Thai Fai Ta Lu (Phra Nakhon), Ten Suns, Gim Nguan Noodle, Rung Rueang Tung Pork Noodle, No Name Noodle and, in Nakhon Pathom, Nai Ngieb under the noodles category, every one of them except No Name at the ฿ band, which means a bowl for well under 200 baht. Pad Thai Fai Ta Lu is the only pad thai specialist on the Bangkok list this year and Ten Suns the braised-beef specialist; both are ranked above, and the best pad thai in Bangkok guide puts Fai Ta Lu beside the non-Michelin contenders. Michelin street food in Bangkok is therefore mostly a Bib Gourmand story: cheap, mostly cash, mostly lunch, and spread between Chinatown, the Old Town and the older sois of Thonburi.

Michelin restaurants by area and BTS: Chinatown, Sukhumvit, Sathorn, riverside

The densest cluster runs from the Charoen Krung riverside into Sathorn. On the river: Le Normandie (hotel boat from Sathorn Pier), Côte at the Capella (BTS Saphan Taksin, then a taxi or the hotel boat), Mezzaluna and Chef’s Table in the State Tower (ten minutes on foot from Saphan Taksin), Aksorn at Central: The Original Store (about ten minutes along Charoen Krung from Saphan Taksin), and 80/20 in Talat Noi (MRT Hua Lamphong). Across the river, Blue by Alain Ducasse at ICONSIAM is reached by the BTS Gold Line to Charoen Nakhon or the mall’s shuttle boat from Sathorn Pier. On the Sathorn side, Maison Dunand on Soi Sathorn 10 is about eight minutes from BTS Chong Nonsi, nahm at the COMO Metropolitan about ten minutes from MRT Lumphini, Aunglo on Decho Road near BTS Chong Nonsi, and Sühring on Soi Yen Akat 3 needs a taxi into the soi. All of these appear again in Sathorn restaurants.

Sukhumvit is more spread out. Sorn on Soi 26 and Mia on Soi Athakravi 1 are a 15-to-20-minute walk or a short taxi from BTS Phrom Phong, and Gaggan on Soi 31 is about twelve minutes on foot from the same station; R-Haan on Soi 53 is BTS Thong Lo; GOAT on Soi Ekkamai 10 is BTS Ekkamai plus a taxi because the lane is narrow. The Phloen Chit and Langsuan pocket has Saneh Jaan in the Sindhorn Tower (a walk from BTS Phloen Chit) and INDDEE on Soi Langsuan (ten minutes from BTS Chit Lom). Ratchathewi and Siam have the two most station-friendly starred rooms in the city: Signature is two or three minutes from BTS Ratchathewi, and etcha at the Chatrium Grand is about seven minutes from BTS Siam exit 5. Baan Tepa on Ramkhamhaeng Road is out in the eastern suburbs, so allow time for the drive. Chinatown and the Old Town, served by MRT Wat Mangkon, Sam Yot and Sanam Chai, are the territory of Jay Fai, POTONG, Nusara, Pad Thai Fai Ta Lu, Ten Suns and most of the other Bib Gourmand noodle shops.

How to book Michelin restaurants in Bangkok, dress codes and what they cost

Nearly every starred restaurant in Bangkok requires a reservation, and the lead times vary wildly. Sorn is the hardest: seats for each month open on the 15th of the month before and go quickly, so be ready on that day. Sühring and GOAT need several weeks; 80/20 about three weeks; at INDDEE the Friday and Saturday seats fill first. Booking runs through three kinds of channel: the restaurant’s own system, website or phone (Sorn, Sühring, Gaggan, Nusara, Maison Dunand, nahm through the hotel), SevenRooms (Côte, Aksorn, Blue, etcha) and TableCheck (Saneh Jaan). Deposits are spreading: etcha takes the full amount at booking and keeps it for cancellations under 72 hours, so read the terms before confirming.

On dress, the hotel rooms are explicit: Côte asks for smart casual with no shorts or flip-flops, and Le Normandie, Mezzaluna and Chef’s Table state a dress code. Independents such as 80/20, GOAT, Mia and Aunglo publish nothing, so ask when booking if in doubt. On diets, Maison Dunand takes vegetarians with 48 hours’ notice and declines vegan; Mia and INDDEE run full plant-based menus as standard; Le Normandie sets a minimum of three dishes a person. Most prices on this page are ++, so a 2,600++ menu becomes about 3,060 baht after 10 percent service and 7 percent VAT, before drinks. When the Michelin Guide Thailand is announced

The Thai guide has settled into a late-November rhythm. The 2025 edition was announced at the end of November 2024, the year Sorn became the country’s first three-star restaurant, and the 2026 edition followed on 27 November 2025 with the Bib Gourmand list a week earlier. Michelin posted its save-the-date about a month out, on 30 October 2025. If the cycle holds, the 2027 guide lands in the last week of November 2026. The useful move before then is to book the current list, because a newly starred or promoted restaurant fills for months and raises prices within a season, exactly as INDDEE did after its second star. This page is updated the day the 2027 results are published, and every restaurant on it is re-checked against its guide.michelin.com page before any star changes.

FAQ

8 questions
How many Michelin star restaurants are in Bangkok?

On guide.michelin.com's Bangkok-and-surroundings listing (checked 17 October 2026) there are 2 three-star, 8 two-star and 31 one-star restaurants, the last figure including two in Nonthaburi (AKKEE and Suan Thip), plus 38 Bib Gourmand entries. Thailand as a whole has 2, 8 and 33 starred restaurants in the 2026 guide, so every two- and three-star table in the country and almost every one-star is in greater Bangkok.

Which restaurants in Bangkok have Michelin stars in 2026?

Three stars: Sorn and Sühring. Two stars: Anne-Sophie Pic at Le Normandie, INDDEE, R-Haan, Côte by Mauro Colagreco, Mezzaluna, Chef's Table, Gaa and Baan Tepa. One star includes Jay Fai, Nusara, POTONG, 80/20, Blue by Alain Ducasse, Signature, etcha, Aksorn, Wana Yook, Chim by Siam Wisdom, IGNIV, Maison Dunand, Le Du, Sushi Saito, Cannubi, AVANT, Samrub Samrub Thai, Elements, Saneh Jaan, Coda, Nahm, Haoma, Gaggan, Mia, Juksunchae, Bo.lan, NAWA, GOAT and Resonance.

Which restaurants in Thailand have Michelin stars?

The Michelin Guide Thailand 2026, announced on 27 November 2025, lists 43 starred restaurants: 2 three-star, 8 two-star and 33 one-star. All of the two- and three-star restaurants are in Bangkok, and the Bangkok-and-surroundings page lists 31 of the 33 one-stars. One of the two outside greater Bangkok is Aulis in Phang-Nga, whose team took the 2026 Service Award; the full national list, with Bib Gourmand and Michelin Selected entries, is on guide.michelin.com under Thailand.

What is the cheapest Michelin star restaurant in Bangkok?

Saneh Jaan on Wireless Road, where set menus start at 850++ baht and Michelin's own price band is ฿฿, the lowest of the five restaurants on its least-expensive starred list. Next come Nahm's Kanom Jin set at 1,100++, Côte's four-course lunch at 1,800++ (two stars), Blue by Alain Ducasse's five-course lunch at 2,550++ and Maison Dunand's Preambule at 2,600++. All five appear in Michelin's May 2026 article on the least expensive starred restaurants in Bangkok.

What is the difference between a Michelin star and Bib Gourmand?

Both come from the same inspectors, but stars (one to three) are awarded for the quality of the cooking alone, regardless of price or decor, while the Bib Gourmand recognises good food at a good price. The guide publishes the Bib Gourmand list about a week before the star ceremony. Two further categories exist: Michelin Selected, for restaurants the inspectors recommend without a star or Bib, and the Green Star for sustainability, which five Thai restaurants hold in 2026.

Is Jay Fai still a Michelin star?

Yes. Jay Fai's page on guide.michelin.com still shows one star at the ฿฿฿ price band, with the crab omelette, stir-fried prawns in yellow curry and the noodle dishes as Michelin's picks. It opens Wednesday to Saturday 09:00–19:30, is cash only, and Michelin warns you will spend time in the queue. Khaosod English reported in August 2025 that the regular crab omelette is listed at 1,500 baht; after a 4,000-baht premium-crab bill, the Department of Internal Trade fined the shop 2,000 baht for not displaying a price and ordered both prices shown.

When is the Michelin Guide Thailand announced?

Late November. The 2026 edition's stars were announced in Bangkok on 27 November 2025, with the Bib Gourmand list released a week earlier on 20 November, and the 2025 edition followed the same pattern in late November 2024. Michelin posts a save-the-date about a month ahead, on 30 October in 2025. If the cycle holds, expect the 2027 guide in the last week of November 2026; this page is updated the day the list drops.

Do Michelin restaurants in Bangkok have a dress code?

The hotel rooms do. Côte asks for smart casual with no shorts or flip-flops, and Le Normandie, Mezzaluna and Chef's Table state a dress code. Independent restaurants such as 80/20, GOAT, Mia and Aunglo publish no code, so check when you book if you are unsure. Prices marked ++ exclude 10 percent service and 7 percent VAT, so a 2,600++ menu comes to about 3,060 baht before drinks.
