About

80/20 is a contemporary Thai restaurant in a shophouse on Soi Charoen Krung 26, on the Talat Noi side of the road. The name is the ratio of local ingredients to the chef's own ideas, as the Michelin Guide explains; the restaurant's own site carries the one-Michelin-star 2026 badge and an Asia's 50 Best logo. Michelin describes a seasonal tasting menu that reinterprets classic Thai dishes with Lao influences, with mains served alongside Yasothon jasmine rice cooked in coconut milk and pandan. A 2021 BK Magazine piece, when chef Andrew Martin returned to the kitchen, listed two menus, 14 bites at 2,800 baht and 18 bites at 3,300, with dishes such as Stormy Sea (squid, mangosteen, chilli) and Gai Krajan (chicken, chilli, cashew); treat those as that year's prices and check the current menu. Time Out Thailand gives it four stars and praises the desserts. Open Wednesday to Sunday, 18:00 to 23:00, closed Monday and Tuesday; book through the website about three weeks ahead. Google rates it 4.5 from more than 560 reviews. MRT Hua Lamphong is closer than any BTS, about fifteen minutes on foot, or take the express boat to Si Phraya pier.
