Ratchaphruek Restaurants: 13 Places to Eat on Ratchaphruek Road, All with Parking
Ratchaphruek restaurants from Taling Chan to The Circle on Ratchaphruek Road: family seafood rooms, garden bars, teppanyaki and cafes, all with parking.
Ratchaphruek Road runs from the Taksin junction in Thon Buri out past Phetkasem Road, through Taling Chan and Nonthaburi, all the way to Pathum Thani. On its Taling Chan and Bang Ramat stretch no rail line runs along it and there is no big mall, so the restaurants that do well here are the ones you can park at: Thai seafood rooms that seat a whole family, cafe-bars with gardens, two serious Japanese places and a string of cafes down the side sois. This guide to Ratchaphruek restaurants (you will also see Ratchapruek on menus and maps) covers 13 places on the Taling Chan and Bang Ramat stretch, the part inside Bangkok where they sit closest together. Each entry says where it is on the road and how the parking works, because on Ratchaphruek those two facts decide the evening more often than the menu does. The order comes from Google rating and review volume, dishes confirmed in menus and reviews, and editorial judgement.
Spend falls into a few bands. Made-to-order rice plates and cafe drinks run 60 to 150 baht. The family seafood rooms, garden restaurants and the mookata place come to 250 to 500 baht a head. Recent Mangkud Cafe reviewers paid 500 to 1,000, and the teppanyaki Special Set starts at 1,550 baht and climbs well past that once wagyu or lobster is involved. Nearly everyone arrives by car, and directions are given from three landmarks: the Borommaratchachonnani interchange, The Walk Ratchaphruek and The Circle Ratchaphruek. The Pla Yoo Yen compound, across the road from The Circle, puts three of the places below around a single car park. The nearest rail stations, BTS Bang Wa near the Phetkasem interchange and SRT Taling Chan on the Light Red Line, both leave you a taxi or motorbike-taxi ride short.

Ratchaphruek Road restaurants in three stretches: Taling Chan, Bang Ramat, Bang Kruai
The Taling Chan stretch runs from the Phetkasem interchange north to the Borommaratchachonnani interchange. Restaurants here face the main road, which makes them easy to spot and awkward to reach from the wrong side. Bulwark at number 53 and Cof&Cow at number 36 are on this stretch. Mangkud Cafe is just inside Ratchaphruek Soi 34 in Chimphli, next to a church, and Tui Mookata is in Chimphli off Borommaratchachonnani Road. For anyone looking for Taling Chan restaurants specifically, this is the part of the road that answers it. South of Phetkasem, Kanlapaphruek Road branches off Ratchaphruek at the Suan Liap interchange and links across to Bang Khae, which has its own list of Bang Khae restaurants.
The Bang Ramat stretch, from the Borommaratchachonnani interchange up to Khlong Maha Sawat, is where the restaurants sit closest together. The Circle Ratchaphruek, a community mall with its own car park, sits on one side with Neua Neur and Shakariki 432 inside. Directly opposite is the Pla Yoo Yen compound: Pla Yoo Yen itself, Shichi’s teppanyaki room with its sister Japanese restaurant next door, and Tong Rim Thang cooking out of the same car park. Intrawat Road (also romanised Inthrawat) branches off here: Ginger Farm Kitchen at number 111 and Keiken Coffee at 108 face the road, Loading Caffeine is in Soi 35 and Yaangkao in Soi 44. Parking on Intrawat is tighter than on the main road, so expect to leave the car at the roadside in the soi.
Past Khlong Maha Sawat, the road leaves Bangkok for Bang Kruai in Nonthaburi, crosses Nakhon In Road at the Ratchaphruek roundabout and runs on toward Rattanathibet and Chaiyaphruek. Several well-known restaurants are up there, outside the scope of this list. theAsianparent gives an average of 120 to 650 baht a dish at the Ratchaphruek branch of Samsen Villa, and Chillpainai notes its large car park. Oon Ai Din, on the Bang Rak Noi side, opens from 15:00 to midnight across four zones including a rooftop, and Maria Pizzeria, before Rattanathibet Road, does wood-fired pizza and a crab carbonara. Treat them as the next stop if you are already driving north.
Ratchaphruek restaurants for families, with big car parks
A family dinner on Ratchaphruek needs a table for eight, a menu that works for grandparents and children at once, and somewhere to leave two cars. Pla Yoo Yen clears all three without effort. Wongnai counts more than 150 seats across air-conditioned rooms and an outdoor area, and the restaurant advertises karaoke rooms and a banquet room for bigger groups. The fish is priced for sharing: the house snakehead, the fried sea bass with fish sauce and the steamed sea bass with soy are 420 baht each, shrimp cakes are 220 for five, and the German-style pork knuckle at 470 is there for anyone who will not eat fish. It is open daily to 23:00; Wongnai gives a 10:30 opening, Google and Grab 11:00. Book weekend dinners on 02 432 2544.
Neua Neur in The Circle suits a family that wants northern food. The kitchen is built around beef, from grilled beef tongue at 395 baht to beef khao soi and a khantoke platter that arrives with sai ua sausage, pork crackling and sticky rice. It closes at 20:30 by Wongnai’s hours (21:00 on Google), which makes it a lunch or early-dinner stop with small children rather than a late one. Ginger Farm Kitchen on Intrawat Road is the gentler choice: the Chiang Mai brand cooks without MSG, uses produce from its own farm or chosen growers where it can, and keeps a separate vegetarian menu that you have to ask for. It opens daily from 10:00 to 21:00.
Mangkud Cafe is where to take parents who grew up on old-style Thai cooking. The rice tossed with fried mackerel comes as a 250-baht set, the choo chee curry with fried mackerel is 275, and the gallery upstairs gives everyone something to look at while the kitchen works. It opens 11:00 to 19:00 and closes on Mondays. The Chef’s Table course, 750 to 950 baht in a 2023 review, needs booking a day ahead with a deposit, and reviews since 2022 say the dining room has at times served set courses only, so call 081 843 1598 to check whether single dishes are available that day.
Garden restaurants and bars with live music
On Ratchaphruek, the places that work for an evening drink tend to have outdoor space. Bulwark is the clearest example. It opens at 14:00 as a cafe and turns into a bar after dark, with draught beer, Western plates with Thai touches and, by one Wongnai reviewer’s account, live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Bring your own wine for 300 baht corkage. Reviewers praise the atmosphere and the service, and one liked how few people were there; the complaint that keeps coming up is small portions for the price. It is closed on Mondays.
Yaangkao, 200 metres into Intrawat Soi 44, is the Thai-Chinese version of the same evening. There are only about eight air-conditioned tables inside, with more outside and a garden at the back that reviewers recommend after 18:00 when the heat drops. The draw is charcoal-grilled meat and Hong Kong-style crispy pork that reviewers describe as light rather than chewy, and the fried rice with Chinese chilli and grilled pork neck is 225 baht. Wongnai’s official listing now carries the name Senchai by Yaangkao, and the owner’s note there promotes Hong Kong-style dry fried noodles, while reviews up to June 2026 still describe the grill. Look for either name, and phone 095 491 1191 before a Friday or Saturday to confirm the grill menu is running.
Outside this list, Chillpainai names FIN Outdoor Lounge on Ratchaphruek Soi 17 and The Most Bar & Bistro in Chimphli as drinking spots with live bands and DJs that run to 02:00, and LINE Today mentions Villa De Bear in Bang Ramat for live music and outdoor tables. Menus and prices could not be confirmed for any of the three, so they are not ranked.
Japanese on Ratchaphruek: teppanyaki and a late izakaya
The two Japanese places in the list could hardly differ more in mood. Shichi Teppanyaki, in the Pla Yoo Yen compound, seats you around the hotplate while a chef cooks wagyu or lobster in front of you. KTC gives the Special Set from 1,550 baht, and Thansettakij puts the group’s average spend at 800 to 1,500 baht a head. It is a celebration dinner that saves the drive into Sukhumvit, so book on the teppanyaki room’s own number, 065 529 6444. Sushi and the a la carte menu, the Shichi Roll included, belong to Shichi Japanese Restaurant next door, so check which room you are booking.
Shakariki 432, on the ground floor of The Circle in the Urban Forest zone, is an Osaka izakaya chain that started as a 30-seat shop in Noda and opened its first Thai branch in Asok in 2012. Here the selling point is the hour. Aroimaru lists closing at 03:00 Sunday to Thursday and 05:00 on Friday and Saturday, though Wongnai and Grab show earlier times, so call 02 002 7799 before a visit after 01:00. The menu runs to hundreds of items; the D-Kaisen chirashi is 369 baht and five yakitori skewers 269, plus VAT and service, and water is charged while tea is free. It is loud, and reviewers treat it as a place to drink with friends rather than a quiet dinner.
theAsianparent also lists a Ratchaphruek branch of Tora Sushi, but no prices or exact location were available, so it stays off the list. The same goes for Casa Japanese and Phed Phed Bistro, both shown in Wongnai’s directory of The Circle. For the wider picture, see Japanese restaurants in Bangkok.
Mookata and the seafood buffet question
Tui Mookata is the pick on this list for mookata, the Thai tabletop grill with a dome for meat and a moat of broth around the rim. It is a Thonburi chain with branches in Talat Phlu, Pho Nimit and Charoen Nakhon, and the Ratchaphruek branch adds a prawn pond: you catch your own prawns and carry them to the grill, which is reason enough for most families with children. It sells sets rather than an all-you-can-eat deal. Wongnai reviewers ordered sets at 300, 350 and 400 baht with marinated pork and chicken, liver, pork belly, large prawns and squid, and extra marinated pork is 60 baht a plate. The listings disagree: Wongnai gives 27/20 Moo 8 and 11:30 to 23:00, Grab 16 Chimphli Road and 12:00 to 22:00, so call 062 351 1353 before going, especially at lunchtime. Mookata across the rest of the city is in mookata in Bangkok.
People also come looking for a seafood buffet on this road. On the Taling Chan and Bang Ramat stretch, no unlimited seafood buffet has a confirmed menu and price. The one buffet with clear prices that theAsianparent places in the area is Tohkai, a Japanese buffet at 599, 899 and 1,495 baht net including drinks, open daily 11:00 to 21:00, but its branch details were not firm enough to rank. If unlimited grilled pork and seafood is the plan, reviews of Bar B Q Resort’s Pinklao branch report 320 baht net per adult; check the current price before you go. For a seafood buffet in Bangkok proper, see buffets in Bangkok.
Cheap eats and cafes on Intrawat Road
The cheapest full meal on the list is Tong Rim Thang, trading out of the Pla Yoo Yen car park. It started as a roadside stall and now cooks a made-to-order menu that THE STANDARD counts at 90 to 100 dishes, at curry-shop prices. Its two must-orders by that count are crispy pork with chilli paste over rice at 60 baht, made with pork the kitchen fries itself, and crab meat in thick egg at 290 baht for the table. A Wongnai reviewer praises the plain crab and egg over rice at 80 baht for a generous heap of rice. Hours vary by source: THE STANDARD had 06:00 to 19:30 in 2021 and Google shows 10:00 to 18:30, so treat it as a lunch stop and call 062-335-5527 before an early or late visit. For cheap Ratchapruek food on the main road, start here.
The cafes cluster on Intrawat Road, and each suits a different hour. Keiken Coffee at 108 Intrawat opens at 07:00, early enough for a pour-over before the drive into town; the WHITE latte is 75 baht and there are only about ten seats, which fill on holiday mornings. Loading Caffeine on Soi 35 charges a flat 100 baht for most drinks, iced latte and Tropical Yuzu among them, and sells croffles at 135. There are seats inside the house and in the back garden; one reviewer found the midday sun strong and suggests the garden only in the evening. It is a short walk from Ginger Farm Kitchen for coffee after lunch. Wongnai lists Tuesday to Sunday, closed Monday, while Grab lists every day, so check before a Monday.
Back on the main road in Taling Chan, Cof&Cow has 4.8 on Google from more than 1,100 reviews for its cow-print rooms and fresh-milk drinks, the Cof&Cow Latte first among them. It closes on Fridays. More neighbourhoods are covered in cafes in Bangkok.
Driving, U-turns and parking (and how to come without a car)
Every place on this list has parking, but the amount varies a lot. The easy ones are the Pla Yoo Yen compound, where Pla Yoo Yen, Shichi and Tong Rim Thang share one large lot, and The Circle, whose car park serves Neua Neur and Shakariki 432. Tui Mookata has a big lot of its own, though on weekend evenings you may end up parking further out. Reviewers put Bulwark’s space at roughly 10 to 20 cars at the side and behind the building. Cof&Cow and Mangkud Cafe have spaces out front by the road. The tight ones are on Intrawat: Yaangkao has a few spaces behind and opposite plus the roadside in the soi, and Keiken and Loading Caffeine take only a handful of cars.
Ratchaphruek Road is six lanes with U-turns spaced far apart, so check which side of the road the restaurant is on before you set off; miss the turn and it is a long drive out to the next U-turn and back. From Central Pinklao, head out on Borommaratchachonnani toward Phutthamonthon and turn right onto Ratchaphruek at the interchange. The mall side of that trip is in Pinklao restaurants.
Without a car, take the SRT Light Red Line to Taling Chan and a taxi from there, or the BTS Silom Line to Bang Wa, near the Phetkasem interchange, and a taxi north. Once you arrive, the restaurants are spread out, so pick one cluster, The Circle or the Pla Yoo Yen compound, and stay there. Ratchaphruek has no river frontage either; for tables by the water, the riverside restaurants in Bangkok guide covers the Chao Phraya.
Quick answers
FAQ
Which restaurant on Ratchaphruek Road is best for a family dinner?
Pla Yoo Yen, opposite The Circle Ratchaphruek, is the usual answer for families on this side of Bangkok. It seats more than 150 across air-conditioned rooms and an outdoor area, has karaoke and banquet rooms for groups, and shares a large car park. The house fish dishes are 420 baht each and made for sharing. For lighter northern cooking without MSG and a vegetarian menu, Ginger Farm Kitchen on Intrawat Road is the alternative.
Is there a seafood buffet on Ratchaphruek Road?
None with a confirmed menu and price on the Taling Chan and Bang Ramat stretch. theAsianparent lists Tohkai, a Japanese buffet, at 599, 899 and 1,495 baht net including drinks, open daily 11:00 to 21:00, but its branch details are unclear. For unlimited pork and seafood on the grill, reviews of Bar B Q Resort's Pinklao branch report 320 baht net per adult; check the current price before you go.
How do I get to Ratchaphruek Road without a car?
No rail line runs along the Taling Chan and Bang Ramat stretch. The BTS Silom Line runs along the southern part of Ratchaphruek and ends at Bang Wa, near the Phetkasem interchange, and the SRT Light Red Line stops at Taling Chan; from either, take a taxi or motorbike taxi. Once there, aim for The Circle Ratchaphruek or the Pla Yoo Yen compound opposite, where several restaurants sit together.
Which Ratchaphruek restaurants stay open late?
Shakariki 432 at The Circle is the late option. Aroimaru lists it open until 03:00 Sunday to Thursday and 05:00 on Friday and Saturday, while Wongnai gives 02:00 and Grab 01:00, so phone 02 002 7799 before a very late visit. Pla Yoo Yen and Bulwark both run to 23:00, and Bulwark is closed Mondays. Tui Mookata shows 23:00 on Wongnai but 22:00 on Grab. Neua Neur closes early: 20:30 on Wongnai, 21:00 on Google.
What is there to eat at The Circle Ratchaphruek?
Two places in this guide are inside it. Neua Neur in unit L04 is a northern Thai kitchen built around beef, with grilled beef tongue at 395 baht and beef khao soi. Shakariki 432 on the ground floor is an Osaka izakaya that stays open late, with chirashi at 369 baht. Wongnai's directory of The Circle also shows Kub Kao Kub Pla, Casa Japanese and Phed Phed Bistro, which are not ranked here yet.
Is Ratchaphruek on the way from Pinklao?
Yes. Borommaratchachonnani Road starts at Pinklao and runs west toward Phutthamonthon, crossing Ratchaphruek at the Borommaratchachonnani interchange. From Central Pinklao, drive out along it and turn right onto Ratchaphruek. Tui Mookata is in Chimphli, off Borommaratchachonnani. Eat at Pinklao for mall dining, or carry on to Ratchaphruek for garden seating and easier parking.
