Sukhumvit Restaurants: 18 Places to Eat from Nana to Phrom Phong, Soi by Soi
Sukhumvit restaurants ranked by soi, 8 to 33: Indian, Thai, Japanese, vegan and Michelin-starred tables with prices and the nearest BTS exit.
Sukhumvit is so long that the phrase Sukhumvit restaurants means almost nothing until you add a soi number. This list is built that way, from Soi 8 at the Nana end to Soi 33 at Phrom Phong, with 18 places whose menus and prices are documented in public sources: the most-reviewed Indian restaurant on the road, a southern Thai house that Michelin once named a Bib Gourmand, a Japanese room in a side lane, three vegan kitchens and the country’s first three-star restaurant. Ranking comes from Google rating and review volume, documented dishes, and editorial judgement.
Budget in three bands. Soi kitchens such as Usman or May Veggie Home: 60 to 150 baht a plate. Mid-range Thai and Indian such as Prai Raya, Kinnaree, Amritsr or Chowpati: 300 to 700 baht a head. Hotel dining and Michelin tables, from Bella Sera and Punjab Grill through Saneh Jaan to Sorn: 1,000 to 7,200 baht a head. Getting around is simple because the BTS Sukhumvit line runs the length of the road: Nana for Sois 1 to 15, Asok for Sois 16 to 23 with the MRT interchange, Phrom Phong for Sois 24 to 39, then Thong Lo at Soi 55, Ekkamai at Soi 63 and Phra Khanong at Soi 71. Odd sois are on the north side, even sois on the south. Parking inside the sois barely exists, so drivers use a mall or hotel car park and walk or take a motorbike taxi from the soi mouth.

How to read Sukhumvit soi numbers (and why it matters for dinner)
The soi number tells you which side of the road you are on and what kind of neighbourhood you are walking into. Odd numbers climb north from Sukhumvit Road, even numbers drop south toward Rama 4, and the sois facing each other are often opposites. Soi 11 and Soi 12 are a road-crossing apart, but Soi 11 is hotels, bars and Indian restaurants while Soi 12 holds Korea Town, a building that has housed dozens of Korean restaurants for more than twenty years. Soi 23 is a university soi with Thai and vegan places at student prices; Soi 24 across the road is condominiums beside Emporium.
Four zones cover what matters. Nana, Sois 1 to 15, is Indian, Middle Eastern and Thai restaurants used to foreign guests. Asok, Sois 16 to 23, is offices, Terminal 21 and the small Japanese kitchens of Soi 19 and 23. Phrom Phong, Sois 24 to 39, is the three EM District malls (the Helix floors are mapped in EmQuartier restaurants) and the Japanese quarter of Sois 31, 33 and 39, lined with ramen, tonkatsu and izakaya kitchens. Beyond Thong Lo, the stretch to Soi 71 changes fast; Gourmet & Cuisine counts thirty places on Soi 71 alone. This list concentrates on the first three zones, all walkable from a station; Thonglor and Ekkamai have their own pages at Thonglor restaurants and Ekkamai restaurants.
Best restaurants in Sukhumvit Soi 11 and the Nana end
Soi 11 is known for its bars, but it also holds the densest run of Indian kitchens on this list. Amritsr at 26/13 has cooked Punjabi food long enough to collect more than 8,800 Google reviews; butter chicken and the stuffed Amritsari kulcha with chole are what people talk about, and dinner needs a booking. Finch at 155 plays a different game, fine-dining Indian with a three-way miniature kulcha and a gulab jamun cheesecake, and after 20:00 the live band and DJs take over until 02:00. Vegans have Veganerie at 171, which started as a bakery and became a full restaurant.
The side lane Soi 11/1 is quieter than the main strip and home to Yuna, a Japanese restaurant whose sign reads only in Japanese and whose charcoal-grilled wagyu set is the most praised plate. Hungry Hub also lists hotel kitchens in Soi 11 at realistic prices, such as Crave on the 8th floor of the Aloft with a 399-baht Thai-Isan dinner buffet and Thai Me Up on the 9th-floor rooftop of the Eleven Hotel with a 599-baht buffet that includes one river prawn. Across to Soi 13 the Indian food changes register. Chowpati on the ground floor of 15 Sukhumvit Residences cooks Mumbai street snacks, pani puri at 150 baht, with free parking on level 3, while Punjab Grill on the ground floor of the Radisson Suites in the same soi is a selected restaurant in the MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2026, with a six-course tasting menu that Naewna priced at 1,999++ in 2024. At the mouth of Soi 13–15, Bella Sera on level 2 of the Sofitel serves Italian with a 490++ set lunch.
Sukhumvit Soi 8 and Soi 12: southern Thai, contemporary Thai and Korea Town
Soi 8, on the even side of Nana, is ten minutes from the station and holds two Thai houses that take groups. Prai Raya at number 59 is the Bangkok outpost of Raya in Phuket; a Michelin Guide article of October 2018 named it a Bib Gourmand and singled out the crab-meat curry with betel leaf over rice vermicelli, though the guide no longer has a page for the restaurant. Wongnai prices the curry at 450 baht or 590 for the jumbo, with moo hong braised pork at 320, and its reviewers say the chillies are not toned down. It is a big house that takes groups; book through Chope. Kinnaree by Vanessa WU at number 43 has been open since 2006 and belongs to a professor who taught Thai cooking abroad for more than thirty years; the signature is durian fried rice, with sai oua at 280 baht and a Phetchaburi palm-sugar ice cream, and Google rates it 4.8 from more than 3,000 reviews. Book on the website.
The mouth of Soi 12 is Korea Town, the building that has concentrated Bangkok’s Korean restaurants for more than two decades. Jagumsong on the third floor is the ranked pick, with a 4.4 Google score from 900 reviews, among the highest in the building; hot-stone bibimbap, kimchi cheese and kimchi jjigae are Grab’s recommendations, and if it is full there are alternatives on the same floors.
Sukhumvit Soi 19, 22 and 23: the Asok side
Terminal 21 hides the sois around it. At the mouth of Soi 19 beside the mall, Indique in the SQ Boutique Hotel scores 4.9 on Google from more than 4,500 reviews, with small plates from an 89-baht samosa, a 17:00 to 19:00 happy hour and live tabla on Friday and Saturday nights. Soi 22 on the even side runs down to Rama 4, and in a small side lane past the Queen’s Park hotel sits Usman, a family-run halal Thai kitchen about ten minutes on foot from BTS Phrom Phong, 80 to 120 baht a plate according to eatingthaifood; the spicy beef salad and oxtail soup are the orders and the kitchen is slow. Google lists it open daily 10:00 to 21:30, but the older eatingthaifood review gave Friday as its closing day, so call before a Friday visit.
Soi 23 on the north side is the Srinakharinwirot University soi. Oranuch at 36/1 is the new home of the kitchen team from Kram Cafe, keeping the garden setting, with papaya salad with fermented crab, pork panang and banana in coconut milk as the staples; book on LINE or Chope for dinner. May Veggie Home on the second floor of Prasarnmit Plaza has cooked vegan Thai in Bangkok since 2011, vegan pad thai and tom yum noodles at 120 to 250 baht a head. On the main road near the soi mouth, Mercy Republic is the vegan hip hop restaurant that really does play the music loud; Google lists it open daily 11:00 to midnight, while HappyCow says it closes on Mondays, so check before a Monday visit. Soi 23 is long and hot; a motorbike taxi from the mouth beats walking. The mall itself and the full Asok picture are at Asok restaurants.
Sukhumvit Soi 24 to 39: Japanese on the north side, Michelin on the south
Sois 31, 33 and 39 on the odd side of Phrom Phong are full of small specialist Japanese kitchens. Kobe Tonteki on Soi 33/1 sears a thick sous-vide pork steak, set from 300 baht net in sizes of 150 to 400 grams, with more than 2,000 Google reviews and weekend queues. The same lane has the Phrom Phong branch of Ramen Tei, an old ramen shop with misokara ramen at 250 baht. Soi 39 has Don Don, a monjayaki house at 1/44-45 under a hundred metres from the station, and Masa Garden on Soi Phrom Chit off Soi 39, Kansai sukiyaki in a Kyoto-style house with sets from 450 to 1,500 baht by beef grade. Grab also lists Bankara Ramen, Tsukemen 55 and Sekai no Yamachan on Soi 39, and Sri Trat at 90 Soi 33 for its chamuang pork curry.
On the even side, Soi 26 is the address of Sorn, chef Supaksorn Jongsiri’s southern Thai restaurant at number 56, the first in Thailand to hold three Michelin stars and one of two three-star restaurants on the MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2026 star list, with Sühring. The set menu is 7,200 baht, dinner only, closed Saturday, with bookings opening on the 15th of each month for the following month. Nearby at Soi Athakravi 1 on the Rama 4 side, Mia holds one star in the 2026 guide and offers vegetarian and vegan tasting menus. The three malls, Soi 24 and the rest of the sois are covered at Phrom Phong restaurants.
Best Thai restaurants in Sukhumvit
Three Thai houses on this list suit foreign guests without toning the cooking down: Prai Raya, full southern heat in a comfortable house with a veranda; Kinnaree on Soi 8, which sources from communities around the country and has a story for each plate; and Oranuch in Soi 23, for guests who should see what Thais eat at home, in a garden. At Michelin level, Saneh Jaan in Sindhorn Tower on Wireless Road holds one star in the 2026 guide; it is not on Sukhumvit but is a walk from BTS Phloen Chit, with set menus from 850++ baht and crispy rice vermicelli with river prawn as the inspectors’ pick. Michelin lists it open daily, while Phuket 101 says it closes on Sundays, so ask about Sunday service when booking.
For less money, Usman off Soi 22 is halal Thai that Muslim guests can eat without asking, and May Veggie Home in Soi 23 cooks the whole Thai repertoire without meat and can leave out onion and garlic for jay diners. Between them they cover most dietary needs; the city-wide halal list is at halal restaurants in Bangkok.
Cheap restaurants in Sukhumvit and street food
The road itself is mostly hotels and malls; the carts live in the sois. In this list the cheapest tables are Usman at 80 to 120 baht a plate, May Veggie Home at 120 to 250 a head and Chowpati, where most Indian snacks stay under 300. The real bargain is indoors: Pier 21, the food court on floor 5 of Terminal 21, charges most dishes at 40 to 90 baht in 2026 through a prepaid card you refund on the way out, per Travjoy’s guide. At the Phrom Phong end, Grab lists Rung Rueang on Soi 26 for dry tom yum noodles with crispy pork at the lowest price tier, open 08:00 to 17:00, and Im Jang at the mouth of Soi 37 for pad krapao from 07:00 to 23:00. For the city-wide picture see street food in Bangkok.
Fine dining and rooftop restaurants on Sukhumvit
Fine dining on Sukhumvit comes in three tiers. Sorn on Soi 26 is the top of the country, three stars and 7,200 baht a head, with bookings opening on the 15th for the following month. Mia near the end of Soi 26 holds one star with an eight-course Taste of Mia listed at 7,886 baht and a vegetarian version at 6,944. Punjab Grill on Soi 13 is Michelin-selected with a 1,999++ tasting menu (2024 price), and the hotel rooms follow: Rossini’s at the Sheraton Grande opposite Terminal 21 advertised a 2,800++ degustation dinner in 2024, and Bella Sera at the Sofitel runs a 490++ or 590++ set lunch. Masa Garden on Soi Phrom Chit is the choice for people who want a Japanese house with a zen garden instead of a hotel.
For a view, Bangkok Heightz is on the 39th floor of The Continent Hotel at the Asok intersection, Thai food with a lamb shank massaman BK Magazine priced at 690 baht and, per a HappyCow reviewer, a 500-baht deposit for window seats; it is ranked on the Asok restaurants page. Hungry Hub lists smaller rooftops in Soi 11 and Soi 15, such as amBar at the Four Points. The city-wide set is at rooftop bars in Bangkok and the starred tables at fine dining in Bangkok.
Getting around Sukhumvit by BTS
The BTS Sukhumvit line is the spine of the road and each station maps to a run of sois. Nana: the odd-side exit for Soi 11 and 13, the even-side exit for Soi 8 and 12. Asok: connected to MRT Sukhumvit through Terminal 21, exit 1 for Asok Montri Road and Soi 21, exit 3 into the mall, the south side for Soi 16 to 22; Soi 23 is a walk from the north exit or a motorbike from the mouth. Phrom Phong: direct exits into EmQuartier and Emporium, and the odd-side exit down to Soi 39. Phloen Chit is the stop for Saneh Jaan on Wireless Road.
By car, the sois have almost no parking except where a restaurant says so: Chowpati gives free parking on level 3 of its building, Punjab Grill and Bella Sera use their hotels, and everyone else parks at Terminal 21, EmQuartier or the nearest hotel. After the BTS stops around midnight the front of Terminal 21 and EmQuartier are the easiest places to call a car. Past Soi 39, the next stations have their own lists at Thonglor restaurants, Ekkamai restaurants and On Nut restaurants, and the Indian set across the whole city is at Indian restaurants in Bangkok.
