About

Prai Raya is the Bangkok offshoot of Raya, the long-running Phuket restaurant, and it cooks the same southern repertoire in a large house at 59 Sukhumvit Soi 8. A Michelin Guide article dated 11 October 2018 called it a Bib Gourmand at the time and singled out the crab-meat curry with wild betel leaf served over rice vermicelli; the guide's website no longer has a page for the restaurant, so nothing confirms it in the current edition. Wongnai's ordering page prices it at 450 baht (590 for the jumbo), with Phuket-style braised pork belly moo hong at 320, stink beans stir-fried with shrimp paste and prawns at 320, Phuket crab hor mok at 280, Phuket fish cakes at 250 and a pork-crackling omelette at 180. Wongnai reviewers describe full southern heat and large crab and prawns. Chope puts the per-head band under 500 baht, which holds if a group shares. Open daily 10:30 to 22:30, about ten minutes on foot from BTS Nana on the even-numbered side.
