The garden-style Dining Garden on the 3rd floor of The Mall Bangkapi, with potted trees and lit restaurant fronts in the early evening

The Mall Bangkapi restaurants are where east Bangkok goes when nobody can decide where to eat. The mall stands on the corner of Lat Phrao Road and Ramkhamhaeng Road beside the Bang Kapi stop on the MRT Yellow Line, and since a refit unveiled in December 2023 it trades as The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi. It serves Ramkhamhaeng, Bang Kapi and the high-numbered Lat Phrao sois, and the Saen Saep canal boat stops at its pier. This guide ranks eight places to eat whose floor and dishes are documented in public sources. All eight are on the 3rd floor, in the zone the mall calls the Dining Garden, so the whole list is a few minutes’ walk end to end. The order weighs Google rating against review volume, dishes confirmed by reviews or menus, and editorial judgement.

Price evidence exists for six of the eight. Kofuku’s salmon bowls keep a meal at 100 to 250 baht a head. Onkijung’s rice bowls, Yakiniku Like’s solo sets and chicken rice with a side at Boon Tong Kee run about 150 to 400. LT Fish’s shared fish pots come to 250 to 500 a head, and a sashimi dinner at Sushi Seki costs 300 to 800 depending on how much raw fish lands on the table. The quickest way in is the Yellow Line to Bang Kapi station, roughly 300 metres from the mall, and drivers can use the mall’s own car park. Several kitchens close early, so check the hours section at the end.

Where The Mall Bangkapi restaurants are: the 3rd-floor Dining Garden

The Mall Bangkapi keeps its sit-down restaurants together. The Standard’s coverage of the December 2023 relaunch placed the Dining and Dining Garden zone on the 3rd floor, and Naew Na’s January 2024 report described the zone as a restaurant floor with food from many countries, where you are never more than a few steps from another kitchen. That makes the 3rd floor the place to start. Where Google or Wongnai give a room number, it helps: Onkijung is in 339, Yakiniku Like in 332 and Boon Tong Kee in 331.2.

The floor holds far more than these eight. Naew Na names Happy Pig, Hasul Korean Restaurant, Kogoro Katsu, La Meow, Mo-Mo-Paradise, Ohkajhu, Saemaeul Express, Yuzu Ramen and Yuzu Suki in the Dining Garden. Wongnai adds Sizzler, Fuji Japanese Restaurant, On the Table and Hua Seng Hong. A handful of restaurants are on other floors: The Standard puts Sushiro’s conveyor-belt sushi on the 2nd, and Wongnai lists Hachiban Ramen on the 1st.

Thai and Isan food at The Mall Bangkapi

PONN’s name means to feed someone by hand, and the menu leans on dishes a Thai family would cook at home. Beyond the khao soi, the branch’s recommendations in Naew Na’s report include pork grilled over charcoal with lime and squid stir-fried with salted egg. When the brand opened at MBK Center in 2022, Naew Na listed a southern yellow curry of snakehead fish made with Nakhon Si Thammarat curry paste, shrimp-paste rice and pad thai with fresh prawns; ask whether the Bangkapi menu carries them.

Malakor, Thai for papaya, covers an Isan meal from start to finish. Naew Na’s list runs from plain som tam and tam mama with pla ra to beef on a sizzling plate and pad mee Sikhio, the Korat-style rice noodles. Tam Mua, the floor’s other papaya-salad shop, sits at 3.5 from 37 reviews on Wongnai. Neither PONN nor Malakor publishes prices online, and both close early: PONN at 20:30, Malakor at 20:00 from Sunday to Thursday.

Japanese restaurants at The Mall Bangkapi

Three of the eight are Japanese, and they rarely compete for the same diner. Sushi Seki is the long sit-down. Naew Na’s picks for this branch are the Hokkaido Over Roll, grilled shime saba, shirauo salad and nagashi fresh udon, cold noodles that arrive with a chilled dipping sauce. The Salmon Omakase Box was on promotion at 499 baht against a menu price of 829 in September 2024, and promotions change, so read the menu on the day.

Kofuku is the cheap lunch. Its delivery menu on Wongnai prices a salmon bowl with fried shallots and pickled egg at 199 baht, a mixed raw-fish bowl at 189 and small sushi sets at 139; dine-in prices can differ slightly. Yakiniku Like is the solo grill. Each seat has four house sauces, original barbecue, garlic shoyu, spicy miso and salt, and The Standard’s launch report priced the LIKE Set of karubi, harami and beef tongue at 339 baht. Gasomen ramen in Room 323 is not ranked, because no menu or prices are published for it, and its listed hours differ between Google and its own link page.

Korean and Chinese restaurants

Onkijung opened its first Thai branch at CentralWorld, according to Chope, and its signature is a rice bowl piled past the rim. The Couple Set, reviewed on Wongnai at another branch, brings a pork-belly jeongol hot pot, soy jjimdak, a small Korean fried chicken, corn cheese and two drinks. For other Korean food on the floor, Naew Na lists Hasul and Saemaeul Express.

Boon Tong Kee is the quick one-plate stop. Wongnai members across its branches order fried tofu and long beans with minced pork beside the chicken, and the chain’s one-plate Salaryman Set carried a normal price of 150 baht in a 2025 bank promotion. LT Fish is the opposite pace. Its menu, priced from the True Digital Park branch, adds typhoon-shelter pork ribs at 239 baht and mapo tofu at 199; rice is 25 baht a bowl and 7% VAT goes on top.

Buffet and shabu at The Mall Bangkapi

No buffet is ranked here, because current prices for this branch are not published. The options are easy to find on the same floor: Mo-Mo-Paradise is on the 3rd floor according to both Wongnai and The Standard, Google lists Katei Shabu in Room 318, and Klook lists Seoul Grill, a Korean barbecue buffet, on the 3rd floor too. If you want grilled meat without a time limit, Yakiniku Like’s sets are the alternative. To compare buffets and hot pot across the city, see buffets in Bangkok and hot pot in Bangkok.

The Mall Bangkapi food court and G-floor coffee

The Mall Bangkapi food court is on G. Wongnai calls it the Food Hall zone and lists Bang Waan inside it, while The Standard’s relaunch piece gives it the name Gourmet Eats and says it brings together more than 40 well-known street-food shops. No current per-plate prices are published for it. The same article lists Starbucks, Pacamara Coffee Roasters and Café Amazon on G, opening from 08:00, which suits a breakfast before the 3rd-floor kitchens start. Wongnai also places beard papa’s in the Take Home zone on G for cream puffs to carry out.

Getting there by Yellow Line, canal boat or car

Bang Kapi station on the MRT Yellow Line is about 300 metres from the mall. The line starts at Lat Phrao, where it connects with the MRT Blue Line, so most of the city is one change away; in the other direction it runs down to Hua Mak and the Airport Rail Link. The Saen Saep canal boat stops at The Mall Bangkapi pier, the way to skip the traffic on Lat Phrao and Ramkhamhaeng Roads. The Orange Line along Ramkhamhaeng is still under construction. The mall has its own car park.

Plan around closing times. Sushi Seki and Onkijung serve until 22:00 every day. Malakor closes at 20:00 from Sunday to Thursday, PONN at 20:30 and Yakiniku Like at 20:00 from Monday to Thursday, so a late weekday dinner narrows to the first two. For more around the mall, see Ramkhamhaeng restaurants, Lat Phrao restaurants along the Yellow Line, Central Ladprao restaurants at the Blue Line end and Kaset-Nawamin restaurants to the north. The sister mall across the city is covered in Bang Khae restaurants, and for more sushi and ramen, Japanese restaurants in Bangkok.

Which floor are the restaurants on at The Mall Bangkapi?

Most sit-down restaurants are on the 3rd floor, in the zone the mall calls the Dining Garden. All eight places on this list are there, including Sushi Seki, Onkijung in Room 339 and Yakiniku Like in Room 332. A few restaurants sit elsewhere: The Standard puts Sushiro on the 2nd floor, and Wongnai lists Hachiban Ramen on the 1st. The food hall and the early-opening cafes are on G.

Is there a food court at The Mall Bangkapi?

Yes, on the G floor. Wongnai lists it as the Food Hall zone, and the mall's December 2023 relaunch coverage in The Standard calls it Gourmet Eats, a food court gathering more than 40 well-known street-food shops. No current per-plate prices are published. For a quick sit-down meal instead, Kofuku's rice bowls and Boon Tong Kee's one-plate chicken rice are on the 3rd floor.

Is The Mall Bangkapi the same as The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi?

Yes. The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi is the current full name of the same building on the corner of Lat Phrao Road and Ramkhamhaeng Road. Its refit was unveiled on 8 December 2023, together with the Bangkae branch, according to The Standard. Most people still call it The Mall Bangkapi, and Google Maps lists restaurants under both names.

How do I get to The Mall Bangkapi by train or canal boat?

Take the MRT Yellow Line to Bang Kapi station, about 300 metres from the mall. The Yellow Line meets the MRT Blue Line at Lat Phrao, so from Sukhumvit or Silom you change once. Which restaurants at The Mall Bangkapi suit a group meal?

LT Fish is the obvious one: its pickled-mustard fish pot comes in three sizes, from 399 baht for two or three people to 1,099 baht, which left a table of seven with leftovers. Malakor's Isan menu is built for sharing, with som tam, grilled chicken and fried noodles. Sushi Seki works for families who want a sashimi spread, though reviewers at another branch say seating is limited.

On the 3rd floor, Sushi Seki is the sashimi and sushi restaurant with the most Google reviews on this list, Kofuku sells salmon rice bowls for about 200 baht, and Yakiniku Like gives every diner a personal grill, with sets from 169 baht at its 2021 Thai launch.
