Samyan Mitrtown Restaurants: Floor by Floor, from B1 to the 4th-Floor Food Hall
Samyan Mitrtown restaurants floor by floor: 24-hour ramen, a Korean food hall, old Sam Yan names in the 4th-floor food court, 80-baht moo tod by the MRT.
Samyan Mitrtown restaurants fill four levels of the mall on the corner of Rama IV and Phaya Thai Road, across from Chulalongkorn University and joined underground to MRT Sam Yan. Most people eating here are Chula students, staff from the office tower in the same complex, or someone with an hour to spare before a film at House Samyan or an event in the 5th-floor hall. The questions they ask are usually the same: which floor, and what is still open after 10pm. This list has 11 places, nine inside the mall with the floor and unit number wherever a source gives one, and two on Banthat Thong Road for when you would rather walk out. It runs from a Korean food hall and a ramen counter that never shuts to an 80-baht box of fried pork at the B1 counter. Ranking comes from Google rating and review volume, the dishes and prices named in published sources, and editorial judgement.
Samyan Mitrtown food sits in three price bands. The 4th-floor food court and the B1 counters cost 50 to 150 baht. Sit-down ramen, karaage and steak at Karayama, Ramen NeO, A Ramen or The Steak & More run about 110 to 350 baht a head. A Korean grill dinner or a buffet lands around 420 to 700 baht a head, going by SSAMTHING TOGETHER’s November 2025 grill buffet (499 and 699) and Oishi Eaterium’s Hungry Hub price from 423. The MRT is the easy way in: at Sam Yan, follow exit 2 and stay underground, and a tunnel delivers you into the mall at B1. Drivers have a 1,578-space car park, according to the D+ Guide, and food-court reviewers who drove found it tight. Most shops keep mall hours of 10:00 to 22:00, and the exceptions are spelled out below.

Samyan Mitrtown restaurants floor by floor
The mall is easier to use as four stops than as a directory. B1 is where you arrive from the train. Karayama and the Jae Jong fried-pork counter are here, and the D+ Guide places part of the 24-hour trade on this level too, although A Ramen’s 24-hour unit is on the 1st floor. G has two sit-down rooms at opposite ends of the budget, Ramen NeO and SSAMTHING TOGETHER. The 1st floor holds A Ramen and The Steak & More, the two latest finishes in the building. The 4th floor is where groups and students go, with the K-strEAT food hall, the Samyan Food Legends court and Nittaya Kai Yang all on one level.
Above that, the 5th floor has the House Samyan cinema, the event hall and a rooftop garden that Wongnai lists, so a pre-show meal on the 4th floor is one escalator ride from your seat. Korean food comes in two forms here, the food hall on 4 for a cheap mixed spread and the grill on G for a long dinner. What the mall planned from the start, before it opened in September 2019, is the 24-hour zone, so that Chula students could read, eat and work through the night.
B1 and G floor: karaage, moo tod and the newest ramen
If you come by train, B1 is the fastest meal in the building. Karayama traces itself to a small karaage shop near Senso-ji temple in Asakusa, and the brand says every piece is coated by hand and fried to order. Waug’s listing for this branch names a second signature beside the glazed chicken: the white-fish karatama don, fried fish under soft egg. The shop opens at 10:30 and closes at 21:00, an hour before the mall.
Jae Jong’s counter is a branch of a fried-pork business that began about 20 years ago in a soi behind Lotus’s Rama 4, according to Thairath, and the owner’s children now run 24 branches. Everything is sold by the khit, 100 grams: moo sam kler at 45 baht, garlic-fried pork liver at 40, plus moo yor, hor mok and chilli dips. It is a takeaway counter more than a place to sit. Wongnai reviewers say pork left on the tray goes greasy, so ask for a fresh batch.
The G floor splits by budget. Ramen NeO is new, and Wongnai reviewers note it uses both straight Hakata-style noodles and wavy ones. Hot bowls run from 179 baht for the house NeO ramen to 269 for the deluxe tonkotsu, curry rice plates were added later at 199 to 239, and Google lists a 21:00 close. SSAMTHING TOGETHER, in unit GU006, is the late option on this floor, open until 23:00 for a long grill dinner. Set prices for this branch are not published online. The nearest reference is a 90-minute grill buffet that the Samyan and Westgate branches ran in November 2025 at 499 baht for pork and 699 with beef, reported by MGR Online. From October 2026 the brand also has a chef collaboration on its menu, including pork galbi marinated in minari pesto.
1st floor and the 24-hour zone
The 24-hour zone was the mall’s headline before opening day. Time Out’s Thai edition listed the tenants planned for it: A Ramen, KFC, Shabushi, Kuay Teow Ruea Phra Nakhon boat noodles, Swensen’s, White Story, Starbucks and Cafe Amazon, with a Big C Foodplace and a co-learning space for reading. Tenants change, and of that list the restaurant that Time Out’s current listing and Google both show open around the clock is A Ramen, on the 1st floor. The D+ Guide places some of the 24-hour shops on B1, and the mall’s own site does not say which floor the zone is on, so treat the rest of the 2019 list as a lead and check before a 3am trip.
A Ramen’s order sheet is styled like an exam paper, which suits the room. Time Out describes the crowd as students cramming, long-time regulars and people on their way home from late shifts. Prices on the brand’s site include VAT with no service charge: 240 baht for the double-pork bowl, 90 for gyoza and 160 for a karaage rice bowl. Bowls run small, so the gyoza is worth adding if you are hungry.
The Steak & More, unit 1U003, is Minor Food’s budget steak brand, and its 23:30 close makes it the latest sit-down dinner in the mall after A Ramen. Launch prices ran from 129 baht for chicken to 229 for a pork chop and 239 for a two-steak plate, with larb gai and glass-noodle yam among more than 20 sides. Minor’s release says meals come with refillable drinks and soft-serve ice cream; check how that applies on the day.
Two buffets in the building have public information but are not ranked here: Shabushi in the 24-hour zone and Oishi Eaterium Eatzakaya, which Hungry Hub lists from 423 baht. To compare buffets across the city, see our buffet guide for Bangkok.
Samyan Mitrtown food court: Samyan Food Legends and the K-strEAT food hall
The 4th floor has two very different food courts. Samyan Food Legends by MBK is the Thai one, and it collects shops that Sam Yan regulars already know: Peng Khua Kai for wok-fried noodles with chicken, Today Steak with its cheap Samyan steak, Khao Kaeng Nai Oo for curry over rice, Khao Kha Moo Trok Sung for braised pork leg, Jok Samyan rice porridge, Yoo Kee grilled-chicken rice and Seng Sim Ee for dessert. Pay by QR code or card (older reviews describe a cashier card system) and return your own tray. It seats more than 150, and Wongnai reviewers still found seats hard to come by at weekday lunch, so arrive before 12:00 or after 13:00.
K-strEAT opened on 3 October 2024 with 11 Korean counters under one roof, per Time Out, and Marketeer called it the first hall of its kind in Sam Yan. It runs on food-court rules: claim a table first, then order and pay at each counter. Beyond the bibimbap there is Eggseoul’s egg bread set at 169 baht, 77Kentucky fried chicken, Platter 7 fusion fried rice, Tenpercent’s iced peach tea at 90 baht and a Nongshim machine that cooks Shin Ramyun for you, including a tom yum version credited to Jay Fai. Time Out lists 10:00 to 22:00 while Google shows 21:30, so order by 21:00.
Nittaya Kai Yang is on the same floor for anyone who wants Isan food at a proper table. The chain was marking its 25th anniversary with 31 branches in November 2025, per Khaosod English. With three or more people, a whole chicken at 230 baht beats two halves at 240, and reviewers suggest asking for the grilled pork neck well done.
Banthat Thong Road, a walk west
Banthat Thong Road runs parallel to Phaya Thai one block west of the mall, and together with the Chula sois between the two roads it holds most of the older restaurants near Chulalongkorn University. Wongnai’s list of must-try Sam Yan shops leans on this strip: Jok Samyan on Chula Soi 11 for breakfast porridge, Jae O’s duck rice soup, Long Leng fish balls at the Banthat Thong branch, Sweet Circle’s black sesame bua loy, which has been going for 30 years, Hok Kee braised goose on Chula Soi 34 and LobsterCity’s braised beef-rib ramen. Somboon Phochana is closer still, in the Chamchuri Square building. Wongnai also lists Mae Sri’s egg noodles and wontons as one of the later finishes in the area.
The two Banthat Thong places on this list are further north, about ten minutes on foot from BTS National Stadium. Chu Grill Shabu, at the mouth of Chula Soi 12, gives each table a split pan so one side simmers broth while the other grills, with tom yum goong, clear stock, tonkotsu and mala broths. Taweechok Mookata’s branch 9 sits on the Rama VI corner opposite Stadium One, with an upstairs floor and its own papaya salad kitchen, where the Luang Prabang som tam is 69 baht. Neither has parking. For more shabu and grill options, see hot pot in Bangkok and mookata in Bangkok.
Getting there from MRT Sam Yan, and parking
The D+ Guide gives the clearest route. Leave MRT Sam Yan by exit 2, carry straight on instead of taking the escalator up, turn left into the round white tunnel with a glass floor panel over the pipes, and you come out in the mall at B1. There is no BTS station beside the mall; from the Skytrain, change at BTS Sala Daeng to MRT Si Lom, one stop from Sam Yan.
The car park has 1,578 spaces. Wongnai’s Sam Yan list notes that some neighbourhood restaurants tell their customers to park at Samyan Mitrtown, with the first three hours free; terms can change, so ask at the stamping counter before you leave. Food-court reviewers who drove found spaces scarce, so the MRT is the simpler way in.
To keep eating elsewhere, Si Lom is one MRT stop away for Silom restaurants, and Wat Mangkon, two stops the other way via Hua Lamphong, is the station for Chinatown restaurants. The Siam malls and Siam Square are a short ride north, covered in our Siam restaurants guide. For more ramen and karaage across the city, see Japanese restaurants in Bangkok, and for carts like Jae Jong’s on the street rather than in a basement, street food in Bangkok.
Quick answers
FAQ
Which restaurants at Samyan Mitrtown are open 24 hours?
A Ramen, in units 1U021 to 1U023 on the 1st floor, is listed as open around the clock by both Time Out and Google. When the 24-hour zone opened in 2019, Time Out also listed KFC, Shabushi, Kuay Teow Ruea Phra Nakhon, Swensen's, White Story, Starbucks, Cafe Amazon and a Big C Foodplace. Sources disagree on where the zone sits: A Ramen's listing puts it on the 1st floor, while the D+ Guide places part of it in the basement, and the mall's own site gives no floor. Tenants change, so check before a 3am visit.
Which floor are the restaurants on at Samyan Mitrtown?
Four floors. B1, where the MRT tunnel arrives, has Karayama and the Jae Jong fried-pork counter. G has Ramen NeO and SSAMTHING TOGETHER. The 1st floor has A Ramen, open 24 hours, and The Steak & More, open to 23:30. The 4th floor has the K-strEAT Korean food hall, the Samyan Food Legends food court and Nittaya Kai Yang. The 5th floor is the House Samyan cinema, the event hall and a rooftop garden.
Is there a food court at Samyan Mitrtown, and what does a meal cost?
There are two, both on the 4th floor. Samyan Food Legends by MBK is the Thai one, with old Sam Yan names such as Peng Khua Kai and Jok Samyan; Wongnai puts most meals under 100 baht, and Today Steak's Samyan steak is 100. K-strEAT is the Korean food hall with 11 counters, where a meal runs about 170 to 350 baht. Wongnai reviewers say Samyan Food Legends is hard to find a seat in at weekday lunch.
How do I get from MRT Sam Yan into Samyan Mitrtown?
Leave the platform for exit 2 and keep walking straight on rather than taking the escalator up to the street. Turn left into the round white tunnel with a glass floor panel showing the pipes below, and it brings you into the mall at B1, according to the D+ Guide. Karayama and the Jae Jong fried-pork counter are a few minutes from where the tunnel ends.
Is Banthat Thong Road walking distance from Samyan Mitrtown?
Yes. Banthat Thong runs parallel to Phaya Thai Road one block west of the mall, and the Chula sois connect the two. The Chula sois hold Wongnai's Sam Yan favourites, such as Jok Samyan on Chula Soi 11 and Hok Kee goose on Soi 34. Chu Grill Shabu at Chula Soi 12 and Taweechok Mookata at the Rama VI corner are further north, about ten minutes on foot from BTS National Stadium.
Where can students eat cheaply near Chulalongkorn?
Inside Samyan Mitrtown, the Samyan Food Legends court on the 4th floor keeps most plates under 100 baht, and the Jae Jong counter on B1 sells fried pork at 45 baht per 100 grams. For a seat and table service on a budget, Karayama on B1 starts at 109 baht, Ramen NeO on G has 129 to 139-baht plates, and The Steak & More on the 1st floor launched with a 129-baht chicken steak.
Is there a buffet at Samyan Mitrtown?
Two have public information but are not ranked here: Shabushi in the 24-hour zone, per the D+ Guide, and Oishi Eaterium Eatzakaya, which Hungry Hub lists from 423 baht. SSAMTHING TOGETHER on G sells grill sets rather than a buffet, although it ran a 90-minute grill buffet at 499 baht for pork and 699 with beef in November 2025.
