About

Pla Yoo Yen is a big Thai seafood restaurant on the main Ratchaphruek Road in Bang Ramat, across from The Circle, set up for family dinners and parties. Wongnai counts more than 150 seats across air-conditioned rooms and an outdoor area, and reviewers mention karaoke rooms in several sizes and a banquet space; the restaurant's own link page advertises both. Shichi's two Japanese restaurants sit in the same compound, which has a large car park.

The menu is long and led by fish. Wongnai members' picks with prices: the house snakehead fish (pla chon yoo yen) at 420 baht, deep-fried sea bass with fish sauce at 420, steamed sea bass with soy at 420, shrimp cakes at 220 for five, lime-steamed squid at 290, prawns in fish sauce at 190, a mixed seafood pad cha at 350, a small roast duck at 200 and German-style pork knuckle at 470. Grab's list points to grilled fish and tom yum. Reviewers praise the large crisp-fried fish and the service; one found the sauce poured over it too sweet. Wongnai's tier is 251 to 500 baht a head.

Google shows 4.3 from more than 3,200 reviews. It is open daily until 23:00.
