About

Pad Thai Fai Ta Lu, 'fire breaking through', is named for the flames that leap over the wok, and the Michelin Guide tells its story as a pushcart that grew into a neon-lit shophouse at 115/5 Dinso Road, near the Giant Swing. Chef Andy Yang runs it. It has held a Bib Gourmand since the 2022 guide, and it is on Michelin's current Bangkok Bib Gourmand list for the 2026 guide, in the cheapest price band. The signature, per Michelin, is Pad Thai Fai Ta Lu Khod with char-grilled Berkshire pork collar laid over the noodles; the guide also recommends the crispy-pork version and fresh prawns marinated in plum sauce and stir-fried in their shells, all served on banana leaf. BK Magazine's 2019 review counted just four pad thais on the menu at 75 to 185 baht and called the Berkshire pork the star; expect higher prices now. Michelin's current page and Google both list daily 10:00 to midnight, though an older Michelin article gave 10:00 to 20:00. Time Out's 2019 listing is marked closed, but Michelin's 2026 list is the more recent source. Google gives 4.1 from about 1,800 reviews. Phone +66 89 811 1888. MRT Sam Yot is about twelve minutes away on foot.
