About

Mitr Street is a six-storey Thai-Chinese restaurant at 119 Soi Tha Suphan in Tha Tien, opened by the team behind Ruay Mitr Khao Tom Kui. Its own website sells it as Tha Tien street food with the volume turned up, built around wok heat and charcoal grills. The upper floors look across to Wat Pho, and the ThaiKi rooftop bar on top pours Thai-Chinese cocktails, with DJs on Saturday and Sunday from 18:00 to 21:00 according to Time Out.

BK Magazine's review says to come hungry and in a group, because the menu runs from snacks and wok dishes to charcoal-grilled seafood, hot pots and Thai desserts. Its picks: the charcoal seafood platter at 1,290 baht, where the scallops beat the chewy whelks; the tom yum seafood hot pot enriched with prawn fat at 520 baht, which it called the best dish of the meal; and cart-style red grilled chicken at 180. Time Out adds that Ruay Mitr favourites came along, including pengyou stir-fried beef and the Ruay Mitr mama noodle hot pot, next to newer dishes such as crab fried rice. Sharing across the menu, budget around 400 to 900 baht a head.

Open daily 11:00 to 22:00. Book on Chope or call 065 956 9414. From MRT Sanam Chai exit 1 it is about seven minutes on foot, or take the boat to Tha Tien pier.
