Laem Charoen started as a seafood restaurant in Rayong and now runs more than 30 branches in malls across Bangkok and its suburbs, according to a Thairath guide from August 2026; TrueID dates the brand back more than 40 years. The signature is the house original: a whole sea bass deep-fried with fish sauce, which Thairath describes as crisp outside and tender inside.

The Central Rama 9 branch is on the 7th floor (Wongnai), where members also recommend the jumbo tiger prawns with chilli sauce. Grab's September 2026 list for this branch adds lobster stir-fried in XO sauce, steamed blue crab, grouper fried with fish sauce and fresh oysters. Thairath gives dish prices from about 180 to 250 baht and a typical spend of 400 to 800 baht a head, and the chain sells family set menus.

Grab lists hours of 10:30 to 21:30, so plan a late dinner for before 21:00. MRT Phra Ram 9 connects to the mall underground. It suits a family meal built around a whole fish and shared seafood plates, eaten indoors in the mall rather than at a roadside seafood shop.
