About

Charcoal is the tandoor grill on the fifth floor of Fraser Suites Sukhumvit at 38/8 Soi 11, the same building as the Above Eleven rooftop and about eight minutes on foot from BTS Nana. Its own page describes tandoori fire cooking in traditional clay ovens with spice-led flavours and creative mixology, and states that the kitchen is 100 percent halal-certified, with certified ingredients in every dish; cocktails are served too. The signatures it names are the murgh angaar, the anghaar paslia New Zealand lamb chops and the biryanis, and vegetarians get paneer tikka and tandoori broccoli. Chope's listing adds murgh malai kebab, sikandar ki raan and a charcoal truffle cheese naan. A 2022 Wongnai review paid 650 baht for the murgh tandoori and 375 for the tandoori malai broccoli, which it found a good foil to the richer plates; Wongnai puts the bill at 501 to 1,000 baht a head, and newer reviews put it above 1,000. There is a Royal Indian all-you-can-eat menu, priced on the restaurant's PDF rather than the page. Hours are lunch 12:00 to 15:00 and dinner 18:00 to midnight daily; book through the site or on 02 038 5111, and walk-ins are taken when there is room. Parking at Fraser Suites is free.
