About

Jhol is chef-owner Hari Nayak's coastal Indian restaurant in a house at 7/2 Sukhumvit Soi 18, about eight minutes from BTS Asok and MRT Sukhumvit. Nayak grew up in Udupi on the Karnataka coast, trained at the Culinary Institute of America and cooked at Daniel in New York, and the restaurant's own page frames the menu around Konkan, Malabar, Chettinad, Pondicherry and the Bay of Bengal, designed for sharing and built on seasonal Thai produce. It is a Michelin Selected restaurant in the MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2026, with no star or Bib Gourmand and a ฿฿฿ price level; the inspectors write that the menu maps out India's southern coastline and eschews the usual butter chicken and naan, naming ghee-roast crab and coastal-style curries and notes vegetarian options on request. Older BK Magazine listings give a ghee roast chicken with crispy cone dosa at 520 baht, lamb chops at 1,200 and a coconut jaggery mousse at 290; those prices are years old and have likely risen. Lunch runs 12:00 to 14:30 and dinner 17:30 to 21:30 daily; book through Bistrochat. Google 4.7 from about 800 reviews. If your Indian dinners always end at a tandoor, this is the correction.
