About
Savoey is a Thai seafood restaurant group that says it has been cooking for more than 50 years, with its head office on Sukhumvit Soi 26 and branches around the city. The Terminal 21 Asok branch is unit 5015 on the 5th floor, the same level as the Pier 21 food court, and opens 10:00 to 22:00 daily. From BTS Asok or MRT Sukhumvit you can reach it without going outside.
On a floor of buffets and food-court counters, this is the sit-down, order-by-the-dish option. The group's own list of signature dishes includes stir-fried mud crab in yellow curry sauce, steamed sea bass with lime and chilli, tom yum goong with river prawns, deep-fried shrimp cakes, pork satay and baked pineapple fried rice. Ryoii's guide to this branch adds crab stir-fried with curry powder, sea bass fried with fish sauce, squid steamed with lime, Savoey's bua loy (rice-flour dumplings in coconut milk) and a blended mango sticky rice drink, and puts dishes at roughly 100 to 1,000 baht depending on the seafood.
Crab and whole fish sit at the top of that range, so ask the price before you order them. It suits a family meal or a table of visiting friends who want Thai seafood ordered by the dish without leaving the station building.
