About
Poet House Cafe occupies a renovated family house at number 4 on Soi Ari 5, about 500 metres from BTS Ari, done in white and wood. Sanook covered the 2019 opening: co-founder Por (Naraya Charoonsri), an interior designer from Silpakorn, and owner Kai kept parts of the original structure, had wooden and steel windows custom made, and built a glass room that opens to the garden for seating or events, with a central counter bar and a long sofa. The food is home cooking: Sanook singles out a shrimp spaghetti with salt and pepper adapted from the family's stir-fried pork belly recipe, and a bacon spaghetti with dried chilli. Wongnai reviewers recommend the carrot cake and a strong, fragrant Thai tea. Spend is around 101 to 250 baht a head. Google lists daily 09:00 to 20:00 (Sanook had 08:30 to 21:30 at opening). Google tags it vegetarian, but the menu includes meat. It is built for an afternoon of work or reading in a quiet house. Google 4.3 from 526 reviews.
