About
Kai New Zealand is a Kiwi-style restaurant on Sathorn Soi 12 with a country-meets-modern fit-out, open since around 2014 and still a default for Sathorn's expat crowd. The restaurant's site leads with fish and chips with house tartare, oysters shucked to order, seafood pastas and steaks from New Zealand beef and lamb, plus a Sunday roast that Time Out describes as very large. BKKStay notes the fish and chips use orange roughy and recommends the roast beef for meat eaters. A 2015 BK Magazine review logged the NZ beef burger at 400 baht and the Kiwi salad at 290; expect more today. Intravel and most reviewers agree it is not cheap but fair for the quality. Open daily 11:00 to midnight, with parking in front and beside the restaurant at 50 baht an hour and free valet on weekday evenings and all weekend. From BTS Saint Louis it is about seven minutes into Soi 12. Google: 4.5 from 1,321 reviews.
