About
Piranya is the yellow-fronted noodle shop on Siam Square Soi 9, directly opposite the Chulalongkorn University bookstore, and it has been there since 1999 while most of its neighbours turned into chain outlets. The dish is yen ta fo, the pink fermented-bean-curd noodle soup with fish balls and crispy wonton, which Time Out Bangkok calls the best in the area; Thairath's 2026 Siam food guide lists bowls from 65 baht. The same kitchen does a tom yum noodle soup that Grab's Siam guide describes as bold and properly spicy, plus egg noodles with wontons and barbecued pork. It is a plain shophouse with a limited number of seats, and weekday lunch gets crowded with students and office staff from the towers around Siam. A full meal rarely passes 150 baht. Hours per Time Out: Monday to Friday 10:30 to 20:00, Saturday 9:30 to 20:00, Sunday 9:30 to 19:30.
