About
Yoe Yoe Lae is a Burmese restaurant and bar on Soi Phetchaburi 15, on the Pratunam side of Ratchathewi. The name means "simply" in Burmese, and the restaurant's line is "simply unforgettable". Pratunam is the branch with the longest hours, 08:00 to 23:00 every day; the others are at The Coast in Bang Na (09:00 to 21:00) and Summer Hub in Phra Khanong (10:00 to 22:00).
The website puts the emphasis on three things: slow-simmered broths, tea-leaf salad dressed the traditional way, and curries given time on the stove. Its photos show pork curry, braised pork belly, raw vegetables with balachaung, the crisp fried shallot-and-garlic relish Burmese cooks spoon over rice, noodle bowls, and grilled pork with herbs and peanuts next to a cold beer.
