About

Ayoi Sushi Tengoku is a sushi bar inside the Smash Gym building at 282 Prasert-Manukit Road, the long road most people call Kaset-Nawamin, and its menu is built around fish caught in the Gulf of Thailand. Time Out describes a daily sashimi platter of eight to twelve varieties, mostly local white fish such as sea bass and needlefish, a fish-of-the-day cart, and odder orders such as bluefin tuna eyeball steamed in soy sauce.

Prices reported by Wongnai reviewers: the Thai fish sashimi plate is 290 baht before service and the shiromi white-fish toast 199; one reviewer paid 650 for 500 g of Thai fish sashimi. The rest of the menu covers ordinary sushi, ramen, salmon don with marinated roe, eel rice and wagyu rice bowls, and the bar serves beer, wine and spirits. Most reviewers spend 251 to 500 baht a head, some up to 1,000.

Google rates it 4.8 from about 1,680 reviews and Wongnai 4.5. Reviewers praise the freshness and portion size, and point out that not every local species suits every palate, so ask which fish are on the plate that day. It sits next door to Ob-Aroi seafood, across the road from Nawamin City Avenue.
