About

Ob-Aroi is a big family seafood restaurant at 288 Prasert-Manukit Road, next door to Ayoi Sushi and across the road from Nawamin City Avenue. With about 2,400 Google reviews at 4.7 it is one of the most reviewed restaurants on the Kaset-Nawamin road. Its own site bills baked prawns with glass noodles (kung ob woon sen, 330 baht) as the signature, and the house fish sauce gets equal billing: deep-fried sea bass with Ob-Aroi signature fish sauce is 420 baht, and the sauce is sold on its own for 120.

Prices on the official menu: crab fried rice 130, 260 or 520 baht by size, crab meat stir-fried with curry powder 450, squid with salted egg 320, fresh giant oysters 360 for four, marinated raw prawns in the special fish sauce 240, and grilled river prawns 450 or 900 by size. On Wongnai's delivery page the medium crab fried rice is the most recommended item, followed by the fried sea bass, the baked prawns and the curry-powder crab. A separate vegetarian (jay) section has seven dishes from 100 baht.

Budget around 300 to 600 baht a head. Google lists 10:30 to 22:30 daily. The other branch is on Prannok Road at Phutthamonthon Sai 4.
