About

Camin (Khamin, Thai for turmeric) is a southern Thai restaurant and café in a shaded garden at the mouth of Soi Prasert-Manukit 2, also signed as Phahon Yothin 34, at the western end of the Kaset-Nawamin road. Reviewers describe tall trees, a small stream with goldfish and an air-conditioned glass dining room. The kitchen and the café are in separate buildings on the same plot, and you can order from both at one table. The kitchen runs 10:00 to 21:30; the café opens at 08:00.

Wongnai's menu prices: kaeng som sour curry with sea bass 329 baht, moo hong braised pork belly 345, prawns stir-fried with sataw beans 335, bai liang leaves stir-fried with egg 179, kai kolae southern grilled chicken 260, turmeric-fried sand whiting 260 and coconut cake 150. The bai liang with egg is the dish members recommend most, and the coconut cake is the dessert reviewers mention most.

Wongnai's band is 501 to 1,000 baht a head, though some reviewers spent 251 to 500. A few think portions are small for the price, and service slows when the room is full. There is parking beside the road, and a reviewer advises booking on weekends. BTS Sena Nikhom is about a 15-minute walk. Google rates it 4.4 from around 1,870 reviews.
