About

Up To Jug Kitchen & Cafe (Krua Laew Tae Jug) is a central Thai kitchen with a café room and shady seating near Kaset Intersection, next to KFC at pillar 18 on Prasert-Manukit Road. The Thai name means roughly "whatever Jug wants": owner-chef Kornkanok "Jug" Chaopreecha kept hearing it whenever she asked friends what they felt like eating. Post Today, which profiled the restaurant in 2021, says she learned to cook from her grandmother and mother and ran a Thai restaurant before this one.

The cooking is bold central Thai. The best seller is khanom jeen nam ya pu, rice noodles with crab curry and plenty of crab meat, served with Ratchaburi salted radish (chai po), at 380 baht. Other prices from that profile: holy basil stir-fry with braised beef shank 320, fried rice with crisp snakeskin gourami 220, crispy fried pork with Isan jaew dip 280, and chive cakes made with organic chives from Nakhon Sawan 120. The bakery's toffee cake comes boxed at 250 baht with cashews or 450 with macadamias, and the signature drink, Kiss Me, mixes Americano with orange juice, caramel and vanilla. A chef's table serves a new menu each month.

Those prices date from 2021, so expect some change. Open Tuesday to Sunday, 11:00 to 21:00. Google rates it 4.8 from about 520 reviews.
