About

KJP, short for Khao Jaan-Prod ("favourite plate"), is a Thai restaurant set in a vintage-style glasshouse with green tones, a fountain and paintings. Google and Chope place it on the 2nd floor of Groove, the Ratchadamri Road wing of CentralWorld; Wongnai's listing gives the 7th floor, The Standard (May 2022) placed it on the 7th floor in the Beacon zone, and Koktail puts the glasshouse on the 7th floor. If the floor matters, call 097-917-7777 before you go.

The menu has three tracks: traditional Thai, Thai dishes made with imported ingredients, and international dishes cooked the Thai way. Chope diners vote for the spicy prawn chilli dip with grilled prawns, southern-style crab curry and khao tok tang, an old-style puffed-rice and coconut dessert. Koktail's list adds hor mok pu, a steamed crab curry custard, jumbo river prawn tom yum, a signature fried rice with grilled chilli-herb paste and pork crackling, a wagyu ribeye with pepper sauce and Thai-style bingsu. Koktail also names a pomelo salad with cream dressing and a lamb massaman.

Wongnai puts it at 251 to 500 baht a head, though one reviewer liked the food and found it expensive; Chope lists it under 900 baht. Hours differ by source: Google lists 11:00 to 23:30, Chope to 23:00, and Wongnai and Koktail to 22:00. Google rates it 4.5 from 849 reviews.
