About

Krua Mueang Wae Lao-Yuan is a Vietnamese and Isan chain that says on its own site it has been cooking for more than 20 years, with eight branches running. The Central Pinklao outlet takes rooms 523 and 533 on the fifth floor, across from Food Patio and next door to Saep Indy. Google shows 4.9 from 765 reviews.

The menu suits tables where everyone wants something different. The restaurant's recommended list runs from nem nuong (grilled pork sausage you wrap at the table in rice paper with herbs) and Vietnamese pizza to Hue-style kuay jap, Vietnamese dumplings, Khao Suan Kwang grilled chicken and tam thad, the som tam platter with sides. KTC's guide to the mall picks out kuay jap with moo yor, banh hoi with pork belly and prawns wrapped on sugarcane at this branch.

The restaurant's own site says fresh vegetables are refilled without limit. No per-head price has been published for this branch; Wongnai files the brand's Kaset-Nawamin branch at 251 to 500 baht a head, and a reviewer there found the rice paper for the nem nuong was refilled free as well.

By train, MRT Bang Yi Khan on the Blue Line is about 1 km from the mall.
