About
Masa Garden is the third branch of Suki Masa after Thonglor Soi 5 and Siam Paragon, at 120 Soi Phrom Chit, a small lane off Sukhumvit 39 that Time Out says you enter through a narrow alley. The building is designed as a Kyoto-style house with a zen garden, which makes it a place to linger rather than a plain suki restaurant. The menu is Kansai-style sukiyaki and shabu-shabu. Time Out prices the sukiyaki set at 450 to 1,500 baht depending on the beef grade, A5, A4 or the leaner F1, with rice, salad, miso soup, raw egg, vegetables, beef and dessert included. The shabu set sits in the same range with a pork-bone broth and house sesame or ponzu dips, and there is a 450-baht bakudan, a sashimi assortment of crab, fish, squid, pickles and raw egg wrapped in grilled seaweed at the table. Google rates it 4.6 from about 500 reviews. Hours are 11:00 to 22:00; Time Out's article and info box disagree on a Monday closure, so call 02-123-8581.
