About

Mensho Tokyo is the Bangkok branch of Tomoharu Shono's Tokyo ramen group, in room G-03 on the ground floor of RSU Tower at 571 Sukhumvit, at the mouth of Soi 31 and about ten minutes from BTS Phrom Phong. Time Out describes a farm-to-bowl idea: fresh handmade noodles, sous-vide or fire-roasted meats and a hot milky broth, using local farm produce with specialist items flown in from Japan. The bowl to order first is the tori paitan, a creamy chicken broth that BK Magazine priced at 250 baht when the shop opened in 2018, with shoyu and shio at 230; City Nomads later listed a wagyu miso ramen with slow-cooked, fire-roasted kuroge wagyu at 390++ and a vegan tantanmen at 360, the broth made from seaweed, mushrooms, beans and Japanese soy cream. A reviewer advises skipping the chilled corn ramen. Prices will have moved since; budget about 250 to 500 baht a head. Hours given by City Nomads are 11:00 to 15:00 and 17:00 to 22:00 daily, Time Out lists 16:00 to 21:00 for the evening, and Google shows 11:00 to 21:30 straight through, so call 091 887 9492 before a mid-afternoon visit.
