About

Padthai Ekkamai is the pad thai shophouse on Soi Sukhumvit 63, Ekkamai Road itself, that the neighbourhood's bar crowd eats at after closing time. Time Out gives it five stars and describes the plate to order: river prawn pad thai wrapped in a thin omelette, served with two large prawns, bean sprouts and tofu on the side, at 150 baht, with noodles that come out neither dry nor soggy. A plain pad thai with dried shrimp is the budget version. BK Magazine's pad thai ranking placed it as a runner-up, gave the address as 303/4 Sukhumvit 63, said it has traded since 2011 with many versions of pad thai on the menu, and noted that at the 100-baht price the shrimp were small and not deveined. Lub d's hostel guide calls it a late-night favourite of people coming out of the clubs, and the hours match: Time Out lists 10:00 to 04:00 every day, while Lub d says it never closes. This is a plain soi shophouse, not a destination dining room. If you want pad thai at two in the morning within a short taxi ride of Thonglor, this is the address. The Time Out review dates from April 2017 and the BK Magazine page is no longer online, so prices and hours may have changed; call before making a special trip. Take a motorbike taxi up Ekkamai from the BTS rather than walking the full distance.
