About

Sweettime is a dessert cart with a neon sign in front of 436 Yaowarat Road at the mouth of Soi Yaowaphanit, which Time Out describes as always drawing a queue of passers-by. There are no seats; you eat standing beside the cart. A Wongnai interview explains the stall has run for more than 30 years since the owner's mother started it, with the son now running the second generation. It began with ginger-syrup bua loi and tao thueng and added items as customers asked. Prices logged in Wongnai reviews are 30 baht for bua loi in ginger syrup, 40 for the fresh-milk version, 50 for ginkgo bua loi in ginger and 55 for black-sesame ginkgo bua loi, whose filling the stall makes itself and which the owner calls the original to try. Foreign reviewers go for the black-sesame and taro dumplings in longan syrup or milk, while Grab lists Nam Dok Mai mango bingsu, blended Thai tea and ice-cream waffles for anyone avoiding hot desserts. Open Tuesday to Sunday, 17:30 to 01:30, closed Monday per Google and Grab. A second branch at Wong Wian 22 scores 3.8 on Wongnai from 300 reviews; the original cart on Yaowarat scores 4.2 on Google from more than 300. The right last stop after a street-food crawl. Three minutes from MRT Wat Mangkon.
