About
Ting Tai Fu's shop at the mouth of Soi Ramkhamhaeng 14 is the original branch of a small chain cooking Shanghai and Sichuan home-style food. Time Out counted four branches in 2020, and the owner tells Wongnai the recipes have stayed the same for more than 15 years. It is a small air-conditioned room with 11 to 40 seats.
Xiao long bao are the reason to come. Wongnai's member-favourite list prices them at 127 baht a basket, and reviewers praise the thin skins and the soup inside. The same list has prawns stir-fried with Maggi sauce at 205 baht, drunken chicken at 180, lion's-head meatballs at 65, dry-fried green beans at 130, red-braised pork ribs at 210, Sichuan-style tofu at 130, fried mantou buns at 95, boiled chive dumplings at 115 and plain fresh noodles at 60. Time Out notes the noodles are made to order bowl by bowl. Cucumber in sesame oil comes to the table free.
Wongnai puts the spend at 101 to 250 baht a head. Parking is on the street, and one reviewer suggests nearby sois or petrol stations. Hours are 10:00 to 21:00 daily per Google and Wongnai. Google rates it 4.4 from 895 reviews and Wongnai 4.1 from 174 ratings.
