About

Yum Jae Ueng, whose full name marks it as the long-running shop from Bang Lamphu, is a yum and tom yum restaurant inside the Chatuchak market grounds on Kamphaeng Phet Road. Wongnai puts it about 100 m from MRT Kamphaeng Phet, near the Section 2 toilets, and one reviewer places it right by the station's Chatuchak-side exit. Reviewers describe it as the old Bang Lamphu shop, moved to Chatuchak. Google and an August 2025 review give Friday to Sunday, roughly noon to 20:00, while the Wongnai listing shows Saturday and Sunday 11:00–20:00.

The dish reviewers praise most is the garlic prawns, followed by the creamy tom yum goong nam khon. Others mention blanched cockles, crispy pork with kale, a seafood instant-noodle salad, a prawn omelette and stir-fried clams. The only price quoted is 60 baht for fried vegetable spring rolls. Recent reviews are mixed: in October 2025 and March 2026 reviewers found the prawns smaller than before.

A March 2026 review says the shop takes cash only, although the Wongnai listing still shows card payment, so bring cash. Seating is cramped. Reviewers report the longest waits on Sunday; one found Friday quieter, another found it full of office workers. Google shows 4.4 from about 320 reviews and Wongnai 3.8 from 52 ratings.
