About
JUMBO is the Singapore seafood group known for chilli crab, and its ICONSIAM branch is on the ground floor in The Veranda zone. Airportels mentions big windows looking out of the building, and the Bangkok Post put seating at 240. Time Out has listed it since December 2018.
Build the meal around the chilli crab: a live mud crab in a thick sauce of tomato, chilli paste and egg, which Time Out calls spicy and sweet at once, served with fried mantou buns for mopping up the sauce. Masala Magazine priced it at 2,144 baht in November 2023, with deshelled cereal prawns at 415 and a beancurd and seafood stew at 394. Those prices are three years old, so ask what the crab costs today before the kitchen starts. Salted egg is the other house style: Airportels points to salted-egg crab and crispy fish skin, Ryoii to salted-egg prawns, and Wongnai users add har gow and siu mai from the dim sum list.
Airportels puts a typical spend at 500 to 1,000 baht a head, which works if the table shares one crab and fills up on prawns and dim sum. JUMBO's own site lists 11:00 to 22:00 daily with last orders at 21:30. Groups should book on 099 110 5888 or 02 118 6290-1. Google shows 4.6 from 1,699 reviews.
