About

Khanab Nam is an old Thai-Chinese restaurant under the Thonburi end of Krung Thon Bridge, which locals still call Sang Hi Bridge, under 3 km north-east of Central Pinklao, off Ratchawithi Road. Tables sit on a pier over the Chao Phraya, facing the bridge when it is lit in the evening. Wongnai reviewers rate the river breeze and the long-running, unhurried feel above the cooking, which most of them call fine rather than memorable.

Prices listed on Wongnai: the namesake snakehead fish cooked khanab nam style at 320 baht, ped ron crispy duck at 260 baht, and seafood hor mok, o suan oyster omelette and prawn cakes at 180 baht each. Reviewers also order sea bass khanab nam style, kung sadung prawns, pae sa sour curry, red curry with roast duck and soft-shell crab fried with garlic.

Expect 250–500 baht a head. There is a car park on site, which reviewers value on a stretch where parking is hard to find, and cards are accepted. Google shows 4.2 from 562 reviews. The Wongnai reviews on show all predate 2020, so treat their comments on the food as background rather than current.
