About

NICO NICO is a Japanese-Scandinavian brunch café in the DM Home building on Thonglor Road around Soi 21, opposite the Thonglor police station. The room is compact and bright orange, and BKKStay notes building parking. The plate everyone writes about is the NICO NICO Breakfast at 260 baht: curry scrambled eggs, braised chashu pork and sake-fried mushrooms with yudane toast, a price Time Out and The Standard both confirm. The coffee to order is the No.2 Kyoto, black coffee with caramel, butter and cinnamon at 120 baht. Noble Home recommends the Tamagoyaki Benedict and Miso Avocado Toast, Eatigo the Wasabi Crab Toast and Scallop Miso Salad, and the Japanese breads, melon pan, shokupan and a Nutella tart, sell to take away. Sources disagree on hours: Google lists 07:00 to 16:00 daily, Time Out up to 18:00; either way it is a morning-to-afternoon place, not a dinner one. Budget 250 to 500 baht a head. From BTS Thong Lo it is about fifteen minutes on foot or a short red songthaew ride up the soi. Google rating 4.5 from more than four hundred reviews.
