About
SookSiam is the indoor market that fills ICONSIAM's ground floor, built to look like a Thai floating market with staged canals, wooden boats and stalls meant to represent all 77 provinces. It is the budget option in the mall, and the easiest way to eat several regional dishes in one air-conditioned loop.
TrueID lists the shops worth looking for: Boon Tong Kee for Singapore-style chicken rice, Hua Seng Hong from Yaowarat, Khao Soi Lamduan Faham from Chiang Mai, which also serves nam ngiao, Siam Naem Nueang for Vietnamese-style pork rolls, Jae Daeng Samyan for grilled pork neck, and Arun Sawat for stewed beef and pork noodles. A Wongnai review of Phu Thai Kai Yang in the same zone gives 80 baht for a chicken leg, 100 for grilled pork neck and 170 for a salted-egg and Vietnamese pork sausage salad. Lorenzigo's 2026 guide puts most plates at 60 to 120 baht, and trvlogue names khao kha moo (braised pork leg on rice), Cha Tra Mue Thai tea and crispy butter rolls as the popular buys.
Every shop takes its own payment, and Lorenzigo says a few smaller stalls prefer cash; it suggests carrying 500 to 1,000 baht. Shops keep their own hours, and Phu Thai Kai Yang closes around 21:00, an hour before the mall. Lorenzigo's advice is to walk the whole loop first, then pick small portions from three or four places. Reach it from the BTS Gold Line at Charoen Nakhon or from the river pier.
