The Barn Bangkok เดอะ บาร์น
Best for A weekend coffee and cinnamon roll run by car, or a stop after a game at the rink
About
The Barn is a small bakery cafe on the grounds of the Thailand International Ice Hockey Arena (TIIHA) on Rama IX Road, about three kilometres east of MRT Phra Ram 9, so most people come by car or taxi. Tom, a retired ice hockey player who grew up in Switzerland, opened it in 2022 with Patrick and Punn, two players he met on Bangkok rinks. The name is the Canadian nickname for a hockey arena, and the room is decorated on the same theme.
Everything is baked in-house in small batches without preservatives. The menu PDF linked from the cafe's site lists soft cookies at 80 to 90 baht, the filled ones such as biscoff or salted butter caramel at 90, cinnamon rolls with vanilla cream cheese frosting at 95 or 110, a 48-hour fudgy brownie at 80, and pizza wraps and focaccia sandwiches at 110 to 140. Coffee is a medium-dark blend of Thai and Brazilian beans from Siriwat Selected Coffee in Chiang Rai, with an americano at 80 baht.
Cinnamon rolls sell at weekends or to order. Pre-orders close on Wednesday at 19:00 for pickup or delivery from Friday to Tuesday, placed by LINE or email. Google shows 5.0 from 134 reviews.
