Thep PadThai is the pad thai shop opened by Phongthep 'Thep' Anurat, a founder of the krapow restaurant Phed Mark. It sits about ten metres into Sukhumvit Soi 28 (Soi Bannasan) on the right, roughly ten minutes on foot from BTS Phrom Phong. The Standard explains the idea: make pad thai an everyday plate the way krapow is, with recipes developed together with the southern Thai kitchen Khua Kling Pak Sod. The menu is short. Thep Pad Thai with tofu and dried shrimp is 139 baht, the pork-rind version the owner calls his best-seller is 169, fresh white shrimp is 269, and Daniel Food Diary adds a tiger prawn plate at 699. Every plate carries a Thai-style fried egg with crisp edges and a runny yolk, and extra eggs cost 25 baht each. Heat comes in four levels, the top one called 'godlike'; both reviewers settled on medium or less. The dried shrimp are fried separately so they stay crunchy, and roasted chilli powder adds the smoky wok aroma. Inside there are two big wooden tables, portraits of King Rama IX on the wall and air-conditioning, and the shop delivers on Grab. The shop's Instagram lists it as open every day from 10:00 to 20:30.
