About

Rongros, which Michelin translates as 'house of flavours', is a Thai restaurant in a converted garage on Maha Rat Road in Tha Tien, directly across the river from Wat Arun. Michelin lists it as a selected restaurant and has done so since at least the 2022 Thailand guide. Inside are chandeliers, painted Chinese panels and wooden furniture; the terrace and rooftop are where people want to be for the Wat Arun view at sunset.

Michelin's listing names green curry with rib-eye beef served with roti, and a sour glass-noodle salad. Its Rattanakosin map adds Rongros shrimp fried rice, dried fish over watermelon, crispy morning-glory salad and pineapple fried rice. BK Magazine's 2020 review priced the green curry at 260 baht with chicken or 380 with New Zealand striploin, and rib-eye pad krapao at 380; treat those as older figures.

There are two sittings every day, 11:00 to 15:00 and 17:00 to 22:00. Michelin notes it is a favourite with tourists and suggests booking a terrace table for dinner; the restaurant takes bookings itself on +66 96 946 1785. From MRT Sanam Chai exit 1 it is about six minutes on foot.
