About

Sang Tha Tien (Michelin spells it Sang Thatien) is a small Thai restaurant in a former ice factory at 75 Maha Rat Road, down the alley beside the Krungthai Bank. Michelin added it to the guide in 2023 and notes that parts of the old factory structure were kept; the room is plain wooden tables and vintage odds and ends. Time Out Thailand, in August 2025, called it the hardest Michelin table to book in Tha Tien.

The cooking is home-style Thai built on seasonal produce, fruit in particular. The restaurant's site describes a course-sharing format drawn from Chef Ohm's family kitchen. Michelin names a strawberry salad with shrimp paste and sweet pork, a spicy plum and mango salad, and crab meat with fresh herbs and a spicy dressing, which it calls a must-try. Time Out adds khao khayam pu, crab worked through rice with chilli and shallot, and an ice cream with khanom khai topped with egg-yolk caviar.

Hours differ by source. Michelin lists weekdays 17:00 to 21:00 and weekends from 13:00; Time Out gives Tuesday to Sunday, 13:00 to 22:00. The website takes bookings through LINE (@sangthatien); Time Out and the Michelin page give a phone line, 062 169 6591. Either way, book well ahead. MRT Sanam Chai is about six minutes away.
